Porsche 911

Often said to be firstly named the Porsche 901, the name was later scrapped due to Peugeot having copyright over car model names which contain three numbers, with a zero in the middle. The Porsche had a name change to 911 before release in 1964. Replacing the Porsche 356, the beginnings of this long running classic proved to owe itself to the great styling of the car, and great performances in a number of races on a spectrum of driving surfaces. Finishing first in the Monte Carlo Rally and Targa Florio, the rear wheel drive Porsche 911 proved popular and many variations were produced which were of greater capacity and power. The comfortable and easy to drive sports car proved popular mainly due to the styling, but with a backed up pedigree on the track.

The 1991cc 6 cylinder 911 shared components with the lesser 912 model. The Porsche 911 had further variations of the 911 produced, namely the Targa top 911, an automatic 911 variation, an entry level 911, the more powerful 911S and the 911T which replaced the previous Porsche 912 model. The engine capacity was later increased to 2200cc across the 911 range, with the introduction of the C and D series in 1970.

Two years after the C and D series saw the introduction of the E and F series, with further power increases from the released C and D series. The 2.2 litre engine was increased to 2.4 litre, with the only other change made to the transmission. Porsche was very aware of the success the previous series had received, and therefore were cautious not to upset the trade. The next 911 version released saw a massive amount of praise from the press and enthusiasts, the Porsche 911 Carrera RS was equipped with a 2.8 litre engine and is often labelled the best classic 911. The Carrera received an even greater power increase, and had great success in finish second place in the 1974 Le Mans race. The G,H, I and J series were later released, with further engine increases, making the 911 having a minimum engine capacity of 2.7 litre.

1974 saw the launch of the Porsche 911 Turbo, a move which helped Porsche re-establish sales of the 911 which had taken a slight downward turn. The 3 and 2.3 litre engine of the Porsche 911 Turbo was an increase from previous variations of the 911, with another addition of the rear whale tail spoiler, and revised body kit.

The Porsche 911 was in danger during the early 80s of being replaced with the Porsche 928, but successful continual sales saw the plan abandoned. The 911 cabriolet was also released in the early 80s, with great praise and often said to be more aesthetically pleasing compared to the Targa top. With successful sales throughout the 80s, the Porsche 964 type 911 was released in the late 80s with some notable forwards steps with power steering and anti braking system as standard. The 911 Turbo was also revamped in 1989 with another increase in capacity to a 3.6 litre engine.

The type 993 was introduced in 1993 with only a slight variation to the styling in comparison to the previous 911 variations. The 911 Turbo was upgraded and was now twin turbo charged with four wheel drive. The new 996 got a very negative response from the motor world, with the styling of the car undergoing massive changes, much to the disappointment of the 911 lovers. The classic bug eye headlamps were scraped, with major changes to the anterior of the car. The negative response was obviously heard loudly by Porsche, and this saw the releases of more powerful variations of the 911 series shortly after. The renewed powerful cars included the 911 996 Turbo, 911 Turbo S, Carrera 4S. Porsche finally brought back some of the move loved features of the old 911 such as the bug eyes headlamps, whilst maintaining a modernised look, with the new Porsche 997 type 911.

The Ford Thunderbird

The Ford Thunderbird has been hailed as an American icon, preserved in film and song. The Beach Boys, the popular rock group of the 60's, put the Thunderbird to music in their song, "Fun, Fun, Fun"

"And she'll have fun, fun, fun til her daddy takes the t-bird away"

One of the Beach Boys, Dennis Wilson, originally owned a 1955 T-bird. It is now in the Hollywood Stars Cars Museum in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, fully restored with the Beach Boys' autograph on the hood.

The T-bird is also remembered for her film debut in American Graffiti.

The T-bird was originally conceived to compete with the Chevrolet Corvette. The years following World War 2 witnessed the return of many veterans from the European front. While in Europe they had seen and fallen in love with the European sports cars. American manufactures took note of this and Chevrolet marketed the Corvette. So Ford was challenged to produce a competitor.

Three men were most instrumental in the creation of the original T-bird. Lewis D. Crusoe was a retired GM executive however Henry Ford II had enticed him to join Ford. George Walker was Ford's chief stylist and a vice-president. Frank Hershey was a Ford designer.

Crusoe and Walker were visiting in Paris when Crusoe saw a sports car in the Grand Palais. They were impressed by the design and Walker then called Frank Hershey in Dearborn. Hershey started working on the design. It was to be an open car that would seat two passengers. It would be equipped with An Interceptor V8 engine and be capable of attaining a speed of over 100 miles per hour.

Although designed to compete with the Corvette, it wasn't a true sports car. Ford conceived it as a personal luxury car.

For some reason, they encountered difficulty in creating a name for the car so Crusoe offered a prize, a $250 suit, to anyone who submitted an acceptable name. A stylist, Alden Giberson, entered a list with Thunderbird included.

The idea behind the name is controversial. Some sources say it was named for the Native American god of rain and prosperity. Palm Life Magazine stated the name came from an ultra exclusive housing district. It is also reported that Giberson got the idea when he witnessed an illusion of a bird struck by lightening during a storm.

The Thunderbird first met the American public at the Detroit Auto Show in February of 1954. However, it was not available at dealers until October of 1954. This model was a two-door convertible equipped with a V8 engine that could cruise between 110 and 120 miles per hour. The standard top was fiberglass but a fabric convertible top was an option. Featuring four way powered seats and push button interior doors, the T-bird was actually a small personal luxury car not a sports car.

However, it definitely appealed to the American public at the time and in the first ten days of sale, dealers received 3,500 orders. The total sales for 1955 amounted to 16,155 as Ford realized their goal of surpassing the Corvette.

Later however, owners of the 'Classic' would complain about the lack of a back seat and small trunk. This would lead to modifications and a new generation of T-birds however, the "Little Bird" remains an American icon.

The Ford Capri

The Ford Capri, sporting a "muscle car" image due to its styling and marketing, has become a cult classic in the UK, with parts and accessories easily accessible, and a high number of owners clubs across the United Kingdom. Not only was the Ford Capri styled in an aggressive manner, the muscle car image was reinforced by a number of lucrative roles on the TV screen, staring in The Professionals, Brannigan and Minder. With the car performing stunts, full throttle speeds, and being portrayed as a fast, sporty and bravado car on millions of peoples television screens, the marketing line "The car you always promised yourself" all contributed to a high demand for the Capri.

Originally know as the "Colt" during the development stages, the car name had to be changed due to trademark infringements with Mitsibushi already holding the trademark, the car was named the "Capri". The name originates from an earlier Ford model, the Ford Consul Capri 335, an unsuccessful model previously released. The original mark I model was released in 1969 and was intended to live up to its American counterpart, the Mustang, which had seen a great run in the United States, hence the campaign to portray the Ford Capri as a bravado muscle car. The first range produced in the Dagenham Ford factory included 1300cc and 16l engine variations, sharing mechanical features of the Cortina therefore being an affordable sporty car for the masses. More powerful variations were also produced, with the Ford Capri 3000GT producing close to 140hp, and later the introduction of the RS2600 in the early seventies.

A year after the release of the RS2600 saw the production of the new Mark I Capri, sporting some changes such as a new engine, headlamps and greater comfort. A year later also saw the introduction of the RS3100, a larger capacity version of the already powerful RS2600, with only 100 produced. After a successful run of the Mark I, selling 1,200,000, the Mark II was introduced to the marketplace. The Mark II was a more practical car in comparison, with the 1973 oil problem having a direct affect on the motor industry. A less lengthy bonnet, and the hatchback design made the Mark II Capri more practical for the average motorist. The classic bravado image of the Capri was still very much alive with the introduction of the John Player special. The 3 litre S and Ghia replaced the 3 litre GT in the mid seventies, due to lowering sales. Whilst the Mark III Capri offered no different engine variations from the Mark II, the Mark III did sport the new classic headlamps from the RS2000, plus other changes.

New racing parts and accessories were made available for the Capri in the UK, and 1981 saw the introduction of the Capri 2.8 litre injection, replacing the 2 and 3 litre variations of the Capri. These introductions also saw Ford focusing mainly on the UK market due to rapid declining sales across the world for the Ford Capri. The reducing sales saw the Capri only sold in the UK at the end of the production of the Fiord Capri, with the UK still demanding the cult classic. The Ford Capri had sold close to 2,000,000 models worldwide when production finally ceased.

The BMW E46 3 Series

For a kickoff, let's be honest to say that BMWs are indeed great cars. Solidly built with top-notch German engineering and precision, it is one of those cars that will give you years of faithful service - provided you take good care of it. And one of the most successful models that BMW has ever produced was the 3-Series E46. Launched in 1998, it became one of BMW's most successful 3-Series models until today - with a record sale of more than 500,000 units sold worldwide in 2002 alone.

The E46 isn't a car that is too difficult to live it. Sure, it might have aged a bit, and being German, it's no doubt packed with fancy electronic gadgetries and features, thus making it a pain-in-the-neck-car when it comes to servicing and maintenance, or worse still, when a breakdown occurs. True? Well ... Not Really. At least not in the eyes of most people anyway.

In reality, there's still a lot going for the E46, actually. Though many of its design cues were taken from its predecessor, the E36, but BMW designers "modified and redefined" the lines of the car - making it look more aggressive but yet projecting an executive-like appearance to capture the attention of the not-so-young-at-heart generation.

There's pretty much something for everyone who wants a piece of this machine. If you're on a budget and having an E46 is something that you really must have, then get one with the lowest engine specification such as the 318i. It might not have a lot grunt and oomph to push you off like a rocket on the wide and open road, but at least you can still cruise around town, bring it to clubs, or park it in front of a 5-star hotel - and it'll still give you the pose factor.

The E46 also came in coupe, touring and compact variants - though it was the coupe version that was the best-seller compared to its other three siblings. The sedan version of course, was almost always at the top of the rung due to its desirability as a family sedan by most people.

The model underwent a facelift in 2002, and the outcome which resulted from it was - the car became even more popular. Changes include a set of re-designed headlights, new bumpers and a stiffer chassis. The 318i also received a new and more powerful engine, with a horsepower increase from 116hp to 141hp.

But to be honest, if you really want to feel the raw power and grunt of a Beemer, then the 6-potters are the only way to go. Model variants for the 6-cylinder E46s came in the form of the 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i and 330i. Of course, the trump card would be the ever popular and ever-menacing M3, which was fitted with a whopping 3.2L inline-6, capable of propelling the car from 0 - 100km/h in just 4.8 seconds.

In a nutshell, the E46still captures the hearts of many people until today. True, it might not be as technologically advanced as the revolutionary E90 but it still looks stunning whenever you see one on the road these days. It's got presence. It's got style. And it definitely has got personality. And that's what makes any BMW stand out from the crowd.

The Suzuki Swift

They say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. I guess there are plenty of examples of impersonators to back up this age old quote in modern society. The Beatles have been mercilessly plagiarised by scores of bands - most notably Oasis, McDonalds are constantly faced with hundreds of new fast food outlets each year and in the car world, the new Suzuki Swift is a cheeky take on the Mini. In fact Japan imitates the styling of European cars, blends it with their ingenious engineering and can produce such monumental cars as the Honda NSX, Nissan Skyline or new GTR.

The thing is though that in my experience, imitation isn't the most sincere form of flattery, it's just really annoying. My old neighbour and part-time friend was a prime example. If I bought myself a piece of cutting-edge fashion (that invariably looked awful) we'd look like twins as he'd buy the same clothing the next week. Having saved up my hard-earned cash from a god-awful summer job I treated myself to an all singing all dancing guitar amplifier. I knew what I was getting was the best having lost a day of my life to researching all about it on the internet. Imagine my joy when on the day it arrived, the delivery guy said "I've just dropped the same thing off next door too, odd co-incidence". If only it was.

It got so bad that I'd say I wanted a CD or DVD and let him buy it, discover he didn't like it due to being genetically different to me in every way but gender and then have him sell it to me for half price. Thanks to the money I saved buying things this way I was able to move out from my parent's house and into my own, a safe distance away from Mr Copycat.

Imagine how BMW felt then when the modern Mini took over the cheeky supermini market within days of its launch. Pretty smug and wealthy is how I picture it. It wasn't a big surprise really, when you consider firstly the massive following the original had garnered and that the small hatchback market was as interesting and appealing as sticking your head in the oven. The funky design was modern and striking but retained the key features of the original, such as the round headlights, square roof, and racing stripes. Combined with BMW's build quality, a smidgen more practicality and competitive pricing the old fans flocked to the showrooms and were joined by everyone from trendy bachelors, business women, mums and everyone in between. In short, for the second time in history, Mini turned the small hatchback market on its head.

Popularity as we know breeds imitators. Unfortunately for BMW and their Mini, the latest Suzuki Swift offers nearly all the pros of the Mini, very few cons and a sack-load of money left over if you buy one. If I got angered at my neighbour, I can only imagine how the suits at BMW reacted to Suzuki's unveiling of this.

The Suzuki is styled with cute headlights at the front, square roof and racing stripes - sound familiar? Despite its funky exterior, the Swift drives in a very mature manner with the car living up to its name thanks to petrol or diesel engine options that are very responsive. Driving around town, the Suzuki can nip into parking spaces larger hatchbacks only dream of. It's light to manoeuvre and puts a smile on your face. On the open road things get better still. Minimal body roll, a quiet cabin even when hurtling along the motorway and responsive steering leave you praying for more bends in the road.

The interior is finished to a high standard and belies the fact you're in a supermini rather than a larger saloon. There's plenty of headroom thanks to a high roof and the seats provide plenty of back support, although lack of adjustment options on the steering wheel reach do leave you sitting as upright as if you're a meercat. Rear boot space is limited compared to larger rivals but is still usable.

And now for the best bit: the Suzuki Swift starts at £8,299 a full £3,000 less than the entry level Mini. Make no mistake, for this price you're not getting a Mini wannabe, but a bona fide supermini that'll put a smile on your face whatever the weather and wherever you're driving.

So will I be getting one? Most probably. I've mentioned it to my ex neighbour so I'll pick it up for half the price in a month or two.

The New Porsche Boxster

Porsche continues to amaze the sports car industry and the millions of racing car enthusiasts across the globe. With its line of luxury sports cars, Porsche seems to have endless ideas in producing and redesigning innovative and awe-inspiring racing cars. Evidence of this is the Porsche Boxster.

This mid-engined roadster is one of Porsche's best-selling cars due to its powerful machine and sporty appearance. Its newest version, the powerful, jaw-dropping and speed-racing 2008 Porsche Boxster has already received great reviews and high ratings on its first year of release.

The Porsche Boxster, from its original 986 version in 1996 to the current 987s, is purposely designed to be a road monster. The first Boxster S, with a larger motor and more powerful engine, was launched in 2000. These two versions of the Boxster never ceased to inspire sports car enthusiasts since their release into the market.

The original Boxster released in 1996 has a 2.5-liter 6-cylinder engine with a maximum 201 horsepower capability. The engine was later enhanced to as much as 228hp for the standard Boxster in 2003 and 255hp engines for the Boxster S in 2005. Currently, the 2008 Porsche Boxster has a 245hp V6 engine, while the 2008 Boxster S model has a 295hp V6 engine. Porsche hinted that it will release either next year or in 2010 a newer version of the Boxster models with more powerful engines.

The most distinguishing features of the latest versions of the Boxster are the enhanced engines that became even more powerful. The S version, for example, can do a performance of 60 miles per hour in less than 6 seconds. That means the car's engine releases a lot of power. This performance was made possible due to the addition of a Motronic ME 7.8 engine technology that optimizes the Boxsters' engines.

When it comes to appearance, it is evident that the Boxster's appearance is copied from the Porsche 550 Spyder and the Porsche Spyder and Speedster models, except the convertible top instead of a hardtop roof. Up to the present, this appearance has never been significantly altered. The new models still come out with the signature convertible top design.

With its sleek design and powerful, impressive performance, the Porsche Boxster remains to be the car of choice among sports car enthusiasts and also Porsche Boxster leasing is in demand due to the fothcoming recession. The model will not fail in giving a head-turning experience when the owner drives the car down the city roads.

The New 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo

Many car enthusiasts out there put there soul into the car but some have said they find there soul there as Herbert Marcuse said "The people recognize themselves in their commodities; they find their soul in their automobile."

For years Lamborghini has shocked and awed us with its unique design and we have been nothing less then amazed by each supercar that they have turned out over the last 30 years. Their cars are more then exotic - but they are full of power that many of us can only dream about. The Countach, Diablo, and Murcielago are just a few that we can name. That is why we are excited and happy to welcome the 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo.

The 2008 Gallardo is more traditional then the past models that they have released. It is built with the traditional doors and cockpit. It is available in three different types; the Spyder convertible, standard coupe, and the lightweight performance edition Superleggera.

The Superleggera has a more aggressive suspension tuning and weight reduction that is close to 150 pounds. This makes it much less livable then the other two designs. But on the positive side this model increases the performance and handling for the Gallardo. The Sypder has an added 250 pounds of weight made up of structural reinforcement.

The Sant'Agata factory has already started production on the successor for the coupe to improve upon the Gallardo LP560-4. They Spyder will not be changed and the Superleggera will be sold for this one year only. When it comes to the coupe we think it might be best to wait till 2009 and focus on getting your hands on the Leggera model.

The New Mazda RX8

Mazda Motor Corporation has made a noise when it first introduced the Mazda RX8, its latest version of the RX range, in 2001. The company succeeded in attracting the attention of sports car enthusiasts to the RX8 model. According to its press releases, the new version of the RX model is better, more powerful and comfortable than its predecessors.

Truly enough, Mazda RX8 came out with better performance and look. Although it still uses the standard Wankel rotary engine, the RX8 has been enhanced with a 16V Renesis engine. The earlier RX models use 13V rotary engines capable of displacing 1.3 liters of fuel that could yield 237 horsepower. But in the RX8 model, the 16V Renesis engine is capable of producing 238hp at 1.6 liters displacement.

Another distinguishing feature of the Mazda RX8 is its balanced weight from front to rear. The car's weight is almost evenly distributed with almost an even 50:50 distribution on the front and mid-portion. This near perfect balance was attained due to the placing of the engine behind the front axle and the fuel tank in the middle, right before the rear axle.

The RX8's appearance is also quite unique. Its doors are almost similar to suicide doors, only that it does not have B-pillars between the front and rear doors. Due to this, the front overlap the rear door and that the rear doors can be opened only once the front doors are open. Apart from its distinct appearance, the RX8 is also spacious for four people. On the front seat, more room is given between the driver and the front passenger, while the two passengers at the back can be comfortably seated.

On the downside, the much-publicized Mazda RX8 seem to have not performed according to expectations. The initial announcement of a 247hp capability of the 6-speed manual transmission sports car raised some eyebrows. With its 1.6-liter engine, the 247hp power is rendered doubtful. And it turned out that a number of RX8 owners were dismayed that the car did not produce as much power and speed as was published. Later, Mazda North America Office revised the output from 247hp to 238hp.

The soon-to-be-released 2008-2009 Mazda RX8 will not have that much change except that the chassis bracings were increased to add more rigidity and some other cosmetic changes whoch will make the Mazda RX8 contract hire a popular choice. The 2008-2009 model will also feature a two-rotor rotary engine to deliver better driving performance. This engine is smaller and lighter so it promises the same speed, while providing more comfort.

The 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon

The period starting around 1995 and ending in early 2008 will very likely be remembered for the new American summer vacation cliché. The family outing, the short vacation, trips to the beach, mountains, or even Grandma's house, soundly revolved around the family SUV. Big enough to seat the entire family in a distinct measure of comfort, strong enough to denote safety, and aggressive enough in appearance to make a definitive statement about the driver, there was certainly a lot to love about the SUV. Of course, that was before the age of triple digit oil barrel prices. Now, the beast that the Sport Utility Vehicle appeared to have officially killed way back in 1996, the station wagon, is making a comeback.

The lineage of the station wagon can be traced all the way back to a variant of the Ford Model T, but according to some station wagon aficionados, the first true station wagon was the 1923 Star made by Durant Motors Company. The station wagon truly bloomed into the car of choice for large families, as one might expect, with the baby boom following World War II. The move of families away from urban areas and into the suburbs paired with the spread of the highway system and the increase in average family size made the station wagon practical. And despite the wagon never occupying the same public love as the sports car or even the pickup truck, prior to the 1970s gas crisis, the station wagon accounted for nearly one out of every five cars on the road.

The gas crisis of the 1970s, much like the gas crisis of today, put a crimp in the practicality of the large, American station wagon. The minivan, officially launched in 1984, helped to push the station wagon further towards retirement, and ironically, the widespread boom of the Sport Utility Vehicle in 1995, meant that the 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon was the last true American station wagon on the market. Everyone, it seemed, had traded low and wide with tall and off-road-capable.

Or did they? Despite one replacing the other, the station wagon and the SUV share a lot in common. Until 1938, station wagons were officially classified as commercial trucks and were routinely built on the chassis of half-ton pickup trucks. The break down for the modern SUV is the same. Those which are built on a laddered frame, more reminiscent of a classic truck due to the ability to distribute weight, are considered trucks by fuel economy standards. However, those built on a solid, one piece frame - often called Crossovers - are usually classified as cars, and in many states, station wagons. Yes, it appears that the station wagon never died, it just went through an aggressive makeover.

Granted, it's quite easy to look at a crossover and assert, "that doesn't look like my father's station wagon" and you would be correct in asserting that. Like many bellbottoms before them, the station wagon has returned under a new guise and has been updated to pass muster in the modern world. Like most cars today, the overall look is more aggressive, merging the handling of a car, roughly the appearance of a sport utility vehicle, and yes, the practicality of a station wagon. And the advances go beyond looks. The smaller crossovers and blatant modern station wagons like the Audi A4 Avant, Volvo V70, and the Subaru Forester, have marked increases in fuel economy when compared to the SUVs that they are quickly starting to replace.

Yes, it was the fuel crisis of the 1970s that led to decline of the station wagon, and the SUV that originally killed them. However, it was the gas crisis of 2008 that gave rebirth to the modern station wagon, or whatever the car manufacturers are calling them. Keep that in mind as you pile the kids into your Ford Flex, Chevy HHR, or Honda CR-V for a trip to Grandma's.

Web Based Car Clubs

There are many different types of car clubs to be found on the internet. From mechanical knowledge to auto enthusiast shows, a car club provides a great number of benefits and perks to car owners. An online car club may not seem like something you would expect to be popular. However, they continue to grow in popularity all the time as more people join online car clubs. Virtually every make and model of vehicle has some kind of web club devoted to it. For some people a car is just a means of transportation but for others it's an entire lifestyle.

An online car club allows car owners to interact with one another no matter where in the world they happen to be located. It's a great way to connect with others who share an interest in fine cars. The internet has made it an everyday ability to touch base with those nowhere physically near you. Interacting with fellow car lovers is just another way to use the World Wide Web to your advantage.

If you happen to be interested in the purchase of a certain type of car, consulting one of these web clubs can help with your decision. Most of these sites have discussion forums where you can find information on the vehicle in terms of engine specs, maintenance and the best price to bargain for. Likewise, if you have a problem with your vehicle, fellow owners of that same car may be able to help you out with it.

Most of these web based car clubs are strictly not for profit organizations. This means they should never ask for fees to join. There may occasionally be the option to pay a fee for additional membership perks but the option to join free is always there. Advertisers often use the site to sell features or parts for the car the club is focused on so there is never any need for members to have to pay anything to be part of an online community.

Many car clubs involve themselves in charity work and fundraising events. It's a fantastic way to use your love for your vehicle to bring some positivity to others. Often fundraising will be done at a car show or event where people are invited to donate whatever they feel comfortable donating. Sometimes donations can be made through the club's website.

Members of online car clubs tend to schedule meet and greets so that members can meet up in person. Those who live within a certain radius of one another may organize meet ups at a local track where it's safe and legal to race or have a public barbecue. Car enthusiasts seek to share their passion with others who understand it. That camaraderie can be found easily with online car clubs.

Whether you drive an inexpensive car with limited horse power or a sleek, expensive racy model, there is a web based car club for your vehicle. Browse the site for some helpful information or jump into the conversation. There is no end to the ways you can enjoy being part of this type of car club.

Top 10 Fastest Cars

Which are the top 10 fastest cars? This is a frequently asked question in motor magazines and motor websites. If you take passenger cars, you can find that speed is actually not a concern in most cases, especially considering today's congested traffic. Speed does matter in car racing competitions.

The list of top 10 fastest cars published by various websites and magazines usually will have some kind of subjectivity and bias. Anyway, let us start from the bottom.

The car that comes tenth on most of the lists is Porsche Carrera GT. Its maximum listed speed is 209 mph. It can steam into 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. The engine has a power of 612 hp.

The ninth spot in the l goes to Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. It has a maximum speed of 213 mph. It can reach a speed of 60 mph is 3.3 seconds. The power of the engine is 640 hp. Although it comes only ninth in the list, it is undoubtedly the best-designed car in the list.

In the eighth spot is Pagani Zonda F. It is has a maximum speed of 215 mph. It can reach 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. It is powered by a 650 hp Mercedes Benz M180 V12 engine.

Slightly faster than this car is Jaguar XJ220. It has a maximum speed of 217 mph. But it reaches the speed of 60 mph only in 4 seconds. This car has been in the list of top 10 fastest cars since 1992.

Ferrari Enzo is in the sixth spot. Its maximum speed is 217 mph. It can race to a 60 mph speed in 3.4 seconds. Its engine has a power of 660 hp. The fact that only 399 models were produced makes it a collector's item.

A car from McLaren, Ferrari's staunchest rival in Formula One circuit, comes next. McLaren F1 has a maximum speed of 240 mph. It can reach 60 mph in 3.2 seconds. It has a 627 hp BMW V12 Engine.

At the fourth position in the top 10 fastest cars list is Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo. Its maximum speed is 248 mph. It can attain a speed of 60 mph in 3.2 seconds.

Koenigsegg CCX is at the third spot. It has a maximum speed of 250 mph. It can reach 60 mph in 3.2 seconds. It is made in Sweden. Some analysts have ranked it as the fastest.

The second in the list is Bugatti Veyron. Its maximum speed is 253 mph. It can reach 60 mph in an incredible 2.5 seconds. The power of its engine is 1001 hp.

The first in the list of top 10 fastest cars is SSC Ultimate Aero. It has a maximum speed of 257 mph. It can accelerate to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds. The power of its engine is 1183 hp.

The BMW 7 Series

BMW has been making cars for years now and it seems that their cars only improve with each model they make. The new 2007 7-Series is a perfect example of this. Technically the design for the 7-Series has not been changed much since 2002 and for that we are happy. It has a simple design that is easy to fall in love and shows off a look of sophistication.

This 5-seater is still considered to be one of the most technologically advanced sedans in its class. Even though it is one of the larger sedans it drives smoothly like a smaller car. The excellent handling of the car comes from the tuned suspension and steering. This helps to keep the car steady around sharp corners. Each model is equipped with Active Roll Stabilization that works to stiffen the antiroll bars of the suspension and to reduce body roll. In addition to this the 750i and 705Li models come with the Sport Package - that offers firmer suspension tuning - or the Adaptive Ride Package - which comes with self-leveling air springs and adaptive shock damping.

The latter package comes standard on the 760Li. All of the Li models are equipped with 5" longer wheelbase and are 5.5" longer then the standard 750i. These extra inches provide up to 6" more inches of legroom for passengers in the back seat. Unfortunately with more comfort comes less handling. It is a sacrifice - but one that many people are willing to make in order to be comfortable.

As we said the 7-Series come with many technological features that many of us have never seen before. The 2007 7-Series was the first model to receive the standard iDrive vehicle management system. iDrive combines the functions of the audio, navigation, climate, Bluetooth, and BMW Assist systems.

Unfortunately this piece of technology can be confusing for many people to learn and because of the many functions it has it does not do a great job of helping the driver to focus on the road. It can actually do more to distract the driver.

The 2008 models will be equipped with yet another new tech feature - but one that is sure to come in handy. It is special BMW night vision technology that will help you to spot people that are on the road through a special detection screen. This will make driving safer for those on the road.

The Porsche 356

Despite arguments to the contrary, the Porsche 356 is known as the first Porsche production automobile to be mass-produced for sale all over the world. The arguments relate to the Porsche 64 which was produced by the German company, yet it was never mass-produced for sale to the public. It was purely a test mule. This proves that the Porsche 365, which was sold from 1948 through to 1965, was really the first Porsche car produced for sale.

The models of the Porsche 356 that were available were initially the coupe, the cabriolet (which is a luxury convertible) and then the roadster which is a stripped down version of the convertible. Before this model was withdrawn in 1965 it went through several alterations and improvements. The most desirable and memorable of these was the 356 Carrera, which often sold for well over $150 000, the Super 90 and the famous Speedster. In the late 50's the usual selling price for a Porsche was already $4000.

In 1954, Max Hoffman was the only importer of the Porsche car into the United States. He soon realized that he needed a more cost effective, racier version of the popular German car for the American market. This is how the creation of the 356 Speedster came about! The Speedster became an instant hit with its compact little body, removable windshield for racing, bucket seats and minimal folding top. Even in the modern day and age, the Speedster is still valued and loved. It is sold for over $100 000 and has even been used in several famous films. It is admired and treasured as a collector's item.

The production of the Speedster peaked at 1, 171 cars, and that was all the way back in 1957. In 1959 the Speedster was replaced by a more sensible version - the convertible D model. The D model featured a taller windshield, glass side windows, and more comfy seats.

Because of its fame, and widespread appreciation, the basic shape of the Porsche 356 remained the same. Of course a few changes were made, especially in the mechanical area. This was a normal progression as advances in motor technology were achieved and the performance of the car could be improved. Coupe and Cabriolet models were manufactured every year up until 1965. The last 356B Roadster was built in early 1963. The final model of the famous 356 was a 356C. The 356C featured disc brakes and also the most powerful pushrod engine Porsche so far: the 95HP SC.

In the year that Porsche launched the 911, the production of the Porsche 356 peaked at 14, 151 cars! Although they had released their new model, the 911, the company continued to sell the 356C through to the end of 1965 in North America. Unfortunately, the customers complained that the price of the 911 was too high. It was almost twice the price of the 356! Porsche counter-acted these complaints by producing the 912, which used the same engine as the 356. The 912 model was produced and sold between 1965 and 1969.

56 years after the beginning of its production, the 356C has been named number 10 on the list of 'Top Sports Cars of the 60's' by Sports Car International. Even today, the 356 is a greatly respected car among collectors. It has really stood the test of time! Worldwide, thousands of 356 owners maintain the tradition, and preserve and drive their treasures regularly.

The 2007 Mercedes CLK 63

When it comes to a Mercedes you can always expect class with a hint of a sporty edge to it. Luckily this has not changed when it came to producing the 2007 CLK63 AMG. In fact we think they may have improved upon it and made it much more enticing to us. The 2007 Mercedes CLK63 AMG is equipped with a 6.2 liter V8 engine that can push out 475 horsepower. This model has the broad midrange torque that you would usually find in a larger B8 displacement AMG. But the hardware has made this possible and is has given it a high rpm that allows it to pull all the way to the 7200rpm redline.

The CLK drives effortlessly thanks to its seven-speed transmission and the highly refined manu-matic with paddle-shift capability. AMG equips the quick shifting automatic with a tightly calibrated torque converter. It does not produce any jerking when shifting.

A switch found on the center console allows you to select Manual, Sport, and Comfort mode. These options allow you to calibrate the speed in which the transmission takes hold of the next gear and can hold each gear to the redline.

The CLK convertible is balanced well for a road car and stays true to its sporting roots. It is equipped with Mercedes' quick response body control system. The CLK coupe was dropped from the line-up last year and they have not made any plans to bring it back. For now we will have to stick with the 2007 CLK63 AMG convertible. But that is find with us because it is the better of the two.

Sexy Cars and Hot Girls

What's the connection between hot models and automobiles? Well, to begin with, let's look at what's common to both. Cars and girls are described with the adjective 'sexy'. Just like sexy girls, cars too have curves and sharp features. Both grab men folk's attention; cars compete with other cars just like girls. With so much in common, it's easy to connect the two...

Auto shows are great opportunities for everyone to show-off; car builders, car owners and hot models. Manufacturers display their new concepts; owners show their custom cars ; and models flaunt their sexy figures. Dressed up in skimpy outfits, car girls make automobiles look even sexier than they actually are. Models play a variety of roles; they anchor interviews, introduce new models, entertain crowds with their dances and shakes and wash cars too. Car wash girls are the hottest… a bikini car wash is a hottttt attraction among auto enthusiasts. Car wash babes in bikinis playing in water in the act of washing cars flaunt their sexiness to the limit.

With so much action, cars and girls are just inseparable; girls need cars and cars need girls.

Exotic Cars

When it comes to transporting exotic, classic or vintage cars you will need to go with a company that specializes in that area. You will wan this due to the rarity and cost of these cars which can be exotic sports cars, antique, and vintage cars. Most car transport trailers used for safe and efficient moving of classic cars are specifically made for road and weather protection and a smooth trip whether it be long distance or local.

Car transport companies often times hire only experienced drivers who have handled antique and exotic cars. The trailer options for secure classic car transport are usually: enclosed trailers which can house two-car, four-car, and six-cars. The two-car trailer is normally not stackable. The auto transporters are able to deliver door-to-door or to a predetermined location. If the auto is not in running condition, there are no worries as they can still be handled.

When you are searching for an exotic car transport company, ask if exotic, classic and vintage vehicle transport is their main business or a small fraction of their work. Furthermore, research if they contract out transport to other companies or individuals. You need to be certain when you are considering a car transport company that exotic cars are their primary business. To protect your vehicle, be certain they have the maximum insurance coverage on the market. Many car transport businesses will make an itinerary just for you, which gives you more options for scheduling a pick-up and delivery. In addition, during transit of your vehicle, contact is made between dispatch and the drivers via cellular phones. This should be a standard feature to keep the office and you aware of any changes due to weather conditions or roadside problems.

There are exotic car transport companies who provide international vehicle transport for people. These types of car transport companies primary focus is to offer a reliable, proficient service with timely departures from major U.S. ports. In general, you will be given a professional client service person to guarantee the safe handling of your vehicle.

Classic and exotic car moving companies use multiple ways to transport your auto long distances, including enclosed single trailers, flatbed trucks, and enclosed rail service. Your vehicle is more likely to be transported flat and not have the tires fastened by chains. Efficient and careful loading on specially made enclosed trailers with lift gates is the basic method with the majority of classic car transport companies having tie-down methods. These types of procedures offer protection and don't harm your vehicle. Additional options are using airtight and sanitary spaces for easy travel. Custom equipment tailor made to meet your requests is normally available from a simple request.

There should be no problems locating an exotic, antique, or classic car transport office with an experienced team of mechanics and maintenance crew who provide a excellent fleet transport whether it be opened or enclosed to accommodate your needs and funds.

InsideFastLane.com provides detailed information and articles about exotic cars, exotic rental cars, high performance parts, car reviews. Inside Fast Lane is not affiliated with Vehicle Transport Companies.

Jeep

Turned on the television today to be greeted with doom and gloom on the news about the state of the economy. It was the same yesterday, the day before and well seemingly for as long as I can remember. If things were as bad as the media made out we'd all be unemployed, homeless and dead within the week. Being a sometime journalist myself I shouldn't criticise the media, with me being one of the bad guys but in a refreshingly honest manner I will. If there is a whiff that you, your perfect wife, two healthy children, family Jeep and home are after a holiday or a new home, all hell breaks loose.

It seems that by keeping us downtrodden we won't treat ourselves to the goods and services that we deserve following a typical 37 hour weekly slog at the office. Certainly don't listen to the politicians and what they spout, but equally don't be downtrodden either, if you've been saving for a week in the sun, do it, regardless of whether the big bang machine will suck your plane into Mars.

The thing I scratch my head over the most though is the cost of goods relative to others - there appears to be no logical relativity at all. For example, a highly sophisticated DVD player with years of research, thousands of wires, micro boards and the ability to keep you entertained for an indefinite amount of time costs from £30 for a decent model. Compare this to a barbecue which consists of three metal legs, a tray and technology that has existed for millions of years and makes you the man of the house for 30 minutes, which costs £85.

It's all well and good scrimping and saving on food, gas and electricity, but when the most basic way of burning your sausages costs nearly three times as much as something a hundred times more sophisticated, it's time to start believing the world has gone mad. The world of cars does appear to buck this trend and in turn temporarily stabilised my sanity. For years the pattern has been simple, pay less, get less. A cheaper manufacturer is more likely to break down, prove to be false economy and be rubbish to drive anyway. Therefore stick to a reputable brand, pay a bit for more for your CD player and alloy wheels and be content knowing the cheaper competitors that have all this included in the on-the-road price are far worse.

Imagine my state of mind then when I discovered this has all been tipped upside down too. Not by the media, but by Jeep. You see in the world of the SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) or 4 x 4 as they were previously known Jeep is the cheapest option but weirdly could prove to be the best. The new Jeep Cherokee is the latest model and has the wealth of 65 years experience in its veins. There are two things that instantly spring to mind upon seeing the latest model - Jeep appear to be following Porsche's lead with their 911 and not restyling it at all and therefore it looks like a mini Land Rover and just like the old model.

The good news is that the styling was previously very likable whilst being utilitarian, the cornerstone of any good Jeep. Therefore you get chunky features, the patented seven slot front grill and that mud-splattered heritage. Jeep also won't bombard you with options - you can either have a 2.8 litre diesel with a manual or automatic gearbox. Yes that's it.

I'd hazard a well-judged guess that a Jeep owner will do more off road driving than the typical SUV owner and the fact is that the Cherokee can cope ably with rugged terrain, thanks to its high ground clearance, powerful engine and hill descent option as standard. That doesn't mean it has sacrificed tarmac handling mind. Yes it isn't as refined as a car, or SUVs in a much higher price bracket from the continent, but the Jeep combines on and off road duties perfectly well.

Inside the Cherokee is well equipped with the aforementioned hill descent accompanied with air conditioning, parking sensors, stability and cruise control and seats that are both electrically moved about and heated. For an extra £950 you can open your roof to the sky above with the 'Sky Slider' option - a panoramic canvas roof. Some may complain that the materials used on the interior aren't to the highest standard but they all function perfectly well and keep a good chunk of money off the retail price.

That price starts at £25, 595 which in any economic climate is good sense. The Jeep Cherokee is therefore cheap but not rubbish. If that doesn't mess up your life equilibrium, nothing will.

Mark Creese has been getting to grips with the state of the nation and has applied his unique brand of reviewing to the Jeep Cherokee which can be found at http://www.cheapchryslerjeep.co.uk/

Pamper Your Vehicle

From the start we are told that we need to take care of our belongings. Well the more expensive those belongings get the more we must put an effort to take care of them. Our cars are one of our most important and sometimes most expensive belongings. They are what get us to all the places we need and want to be or go. So, it is important that we take care of our cars, maybe even sometimes pampering our vehicles. Auto detailing is one such way to pamper our vehicles. What does that pampering include? ] First of all your vehicle will get cleaned inside and out by a professional. They can also help restore parts of your vehicle that have endured a lot of wear and tear and needs a little TLC. The goal of auto detailing is to restore a vehicle to show room conditions. Only a professional auto detailer can get your car looking its best. So, start looking for a professional auto detailer to pamper your vehicle.

They will start by stripping the car of all debris usually with a clay bar system. It is important that dirt, sap and bugs are completed removed or they can have harmful effects on your vehicles paint. They may also clean the outside of your car with a car cleaner and a soft cloth. They will be sure to rinse and dry your car by hand to eliminate water spots. Then they will apply a coat of wax. The wax will help keep your car shining and protect the paint from oxidizing. They will clean your tires and wheel rims and get them sparkling as well.

The inside will also receive a deep cleaning. They will vacuum your upholstery and mats in your vehicle. Mercedes

Many models of cars come and go and the popularity of the manufacturer has its ups and downs as well. Then, there are those amazing manufacturers which benefit from being popular year after year. Mercedes is one of those models which remain perennially popular. For some, this is because Mercedes is considered a status symbol. This is true and it is not the only reason. Mercedes parts have long since made solid cars which have much to offer in addition to visual appeal. Now, that is a tough combination to top!

Safety First

If there was one benefit to Mercedes cars that was often overlooked it would be the fact that these cars are incredibly safe to drive. Yes, these cars look incredible and they are very stylish. While this is a great positive (who wouldn't want a car that looked great?) it is also a very durable car. These cars have the potential to handle impact crashes very well while providing much safety to the driver. This has been a hallmark of these cars for many years and is an attribute visible in many of its models.

When one looks at the various safety benefits of these models their true value becomes obviously apparent....

Mercedes e320

One of the main benefits of the Mercedes e320 is the fact that it is an extremely heavy car that is comprised of aluminum and a solid steel frame. Now, some may wonder how the weight of a car ties into its safety benefits. The reason is that such cars handle impact extremely well. Simply put, the frame of the car is strong enough to withstand extreme force to a degree much better than smaller or lighter cars. No, this does not mean the Mercedes e320 is indestructible. (We'll leave those types of cars to the science-fiction movies) But, it is a car that provides security and assurance to those who are concerned about accident safety. Since the Mercedes e320 delivers in this capacity, it is a very valuable car.

Mercedes 300e

The Mercedes 300e is quite the spectacular car due to its ability to "live a long life". That is, it is not uncommon for the Mercedes 300e to handle well and be free of problems even after it has eclipsed the 150,000 mile mark. Actually, there are a number of reports where the Mercedes 300e still thrives after 200,000 miles! That is quite the reliable car and reliability is always a huge positive when it comes to safety. Yes, you will have to replace a few Mercedes parts as the mileage adds up but that is far preferable to purchasing a new car.

Mercedes 190e

The Mercedes 190e is known for its handling safety. That is a huge benefit for those who want to feel confident when driving in conditions that are less than desirable. Depending upon where you live, driving conditions can be difficult. That is why a reliable car is required. For many, the Mercedes 190e fills this need.

Actually, when it comes to safety, all models of Mercedes have something to offer. This is why Mercedes remains so popular and well regarded.

Suzuki Cars Makeover

Suzuki has long been an automotive enigma. For a company that has been rolling out beautifully crafted superbikes for many years their curious offerings on the car market have bemused many a reviewer not to mention the car buying public.

Other brands such as Kia and Hyundai had upped the ante with their greatly improved cars and so it became apparent to Suzuki that they would have to do likewise or face the prospect of getting left behind in the automotive race.

It was only a few years ago that the old Suzuki Swift could be found on British roads, usually being driven at about 20mph on the motorway, they were only really popular with cash strapped pensioners who used them pretty much as motorised shopping trolleys.

Then we come to the Suzuki Vitara which became the ultimate accessory for the 90's hairdresser and was generally found in white, in fact I think you could only get them in white. Often seen with ridiculously over-sized wheels and a distinctly unfunny spare wheel cover on the back which depicted two animals mating, oh dear.

Things weren't much better with Suzuki's foray into light commercial vehicles with the Suzuki carry (also known as the Bedford or Vauxhall Rascal). What it could actually carry I'm unsure of, but it looked as if it would struggle with much more than the driver on board.

All this was to change dramatically however when in 2005 Suzuki hit the ground running with the launch of the all-new Swift. The Swift had a big press launch in the UK and appeared in TV commercials featuring none other than Cristiano Ronaldo which saw him demonstrating some of his ball skills to some adoring young fans before disappearing in his little Swift.

The Swift is essentially a poor man's Mini but still manages to deliver nippy performance especially the Sport version and is well built and of course costs a lot less than its counterparts. The Swift comes with a number of petrol engines plus a diesel engine sourced from Fiat which delivers good fuel economy.

The Suzuki Splash was developed with GM who also manufacture the car as the Vauxhall Agila. The Splash replaced the Wagon R which was an ill advised name for the British market but as with the Swift the Splash is another good example of a small city car which people are now turning to in their droves. I don't know if this is luck or a very shrewd move by Suzuki to capture this growing market.

Suzuki still offers a 4x4 range which consists of the Jimny which is a cheeky little off-road vehicle which has been around since the 1970's. The Jimny has been improved and restyled slightly but is still really an imitation Jeep. It comes with rigid front and rear axles and switchable four wheel drive as well as a dual ratio transfer gearbox.

Curiously the Jimny is only available with a petrol engine in the UK which does not offer amazing fuel economy. They are renowned for their reliability and despite its small size the Jimny performs respectably well off-road and is unrivalled in the small 4x4 market.

The Grand Vitara has been brought up to date and now looks like a far more sensible vehicle than the Vitara of old with the five door version being the most desirable. Finally we have the SX4 which is a small urban SUV with the option of four wheel drive should you need it around town. Another car closely developed with Fiat but although it is built in Europe the steady hand of Japanese build quality still remains firmly placed on its little shoulder.

So there you have it, Suzuki has brought itself to the fore as a supplier of small practical cars that are well placed to succeed in an ever- changing market.

Jon Barlow discusses Suzuki's current range which has seen significant developments in recent times. For more details on the Suzuki range visit http://www.cheap-suzuki-cars.co.uk/default.shtml

The First Generation Camaro

Over the years there have been a lot of different styles of the camaro, but none are a appealing as the first generation, and of the first generation the 1969 model year is my favorite, so many things were done the that particular year of camaro.

It was the height of the muscle car wars of the 1960's, we had all kinds of dealers competing to build the best, and fastest camaro ever, I could list them all day long, but we'll stick to the ones that people know, like Yenko Chevrolet, Baldwin Chevrolet, Berger Chevrolet, and Fred Gibb Chevrolet; these dealers far and away did the most for the camaro.

First we'll begin with Fred Gibb, this Chevrolet dealer had the great idea to push the ZL1 camaro, and hired Dick Harrell to drive it, who did a spectacular job, first let's talk a little about the car, the ZL1 camaro was truly an engineering feat for the 1960's, it came from the factory with an all aluminum 427 cid engine that pushed close to 721 HP.

The car in total didn't weigh any more then a small block car, but boasted the power and torque of a big block, which obviously helped this car to do amazing things, it's designation from the factory was "COPO" 9560, the car was actually rated at 430 HP from the factory, a huge underrating, Dick Herrell drove the car to an amazing 10.05 in the 1/4 mile.

This 1/4 mile time was of course with the headers uncorked, and a set of racing slicks on the cat, but in full street dress the car would pull 10.30 in the 1/4 mile, with a good driver, this camaro looked as plain Jane as a camaro can look, the only tell tale sign was the cowl induction hood.

Now for the Baldwin Motion camaro, for this feat two companies joined forces, Baldwin Chevrolet, and Motion Performance, and a miracle they performed, the Baldwin-Motion camaro started life as a regular camaro, and got transformed by two automotive geniuses.

Motion had put a guarantee on the car to run an 11.5 quarter mile all day long, and it did, now if I remember correctly the car was rated at 425 HP, this was untrue, the actual HP to push a 3650 pound car through the 1/4 mile in 11.5 seconds would have been about 483.3 rwh, and 604 HP at the flywheel..

They had a 12 bolt rear end, and usually came with a 4.10:1 gear set, although the 3.73:1 was available also, and a lot more street able of a gear set, but not as zippy in the 1/4 mile, a true motion phase III camaro will command about a $400,000 price tag today, but in the 1960's about $4,800.00.

This was not your normal camaro, you'd better be prepared to drive, and ready to give her the respect that she deserved, it was a fun ride for those who could handle it.

Now for a car that I'm sure you've all heard of, the sYc or "Super Yenko Camaro", this car was a very special camaro, Don Yenko of Yenko Chevroelt would order a sports car conversion off of the central office production order list, or a "COPO" car, in this case it was COPO 9737.

The 9737 sorts car conversion came with some goodies, suspension, and rally wheels, and then toped that off with the COPO 9561, which provided the L72 427 CID 425 HP engine, after Don got the cars at his dealership he would then add a graphics kit that included an arrow on the cowl hood, with two stripes moving back toward the passenger compartment of the car, he then added a big golf club stripe, that started at the front fender and went all the way to the back of the quarter panel on each side of the car, it ended with a little triangle on each end of the spoiler.

Don also added a gauge package, and a few other small things, and this created the Super Yenko Camaro, whan Don put Dickk Harrell behind the wheel of this car would would perform amazing feats at the race track, the Yenko Camaro was good for a 12.59 @ 108 MPH in the ¼ mile, on stock rubber, with the headers corked, I have been unable to locate the times that the car ran with the headers open, and a set of wrinkle walls on the car, but you can bet on around 12.30 @ 115 MPH, no slouch for a street car huh.

Most of these cars came with a Muncie M21 or M22 rock crusher transmission, and if you ever wondered how the rock crusher got it's name, supposedly they dropped diamonds in to the gear box, and before it chewed the gears, the rocks were crushed to powder.

1965 Ford Mustang History

The history of the 1965 Ford Mustang began when it came before the American public in April of 1964, and it was love at first sight. Before the year was out more than 500,000 had been sold setting a precedent for sales with the Ford Motor Company. The charm of the Mustang was its versatility of being all cars to all people. It represented the traditional six-cylinder economy car for the mom and pop crowd, a mini-luxury vehicle for the middle class, and posed as a high performance sports car for the younger set.

The history of the 1965 Ford Mustang states it actuality began as a sports car, the first of the Ford 'pony cars', and was loosely based on the earlier Ford Falcon. Much of the chassis, and suspension, mocked the Falcon and the Fairlane. The design was conceived by Donald Frey and Lee Lacocca as a two-seated roadster, but later modified to a four-seat model.

The history of the 1965 Ford Mustang is unique due to the fact that:

1. It broke all sales and production records of not only Ford but other top name cars in that year.

2. It won a Tiffany Gold Medal the first American car to achieve that honor.

3. The Mustang was Motor Trend Car of the Year in 1974 and 1994.

4. The Mustang made the Car and Driver Ten Best List for five nonconsecutive years.

Shortly after the Ford Mustang made its appearance in 1964 it was chosen as the pace car for the 1964 Indianapolis 500. That same year the Ford Mustang won first and second place in the Tour De France international rally. It made its debut in drag racing in 1965 with dealer sponsored competition. Five 1965 Mustangs, powered by 427 cu. in. V8s, entered the National Hot Rod Association Experimental Class and qualified for the Factory Stock Eliminator Class. Bill Lawton drove the car that won. Road racing was another sport where the 1965 Ford Mustang excelled. The GT 350 R, a race version of the Shelby GT 350, won no less than five of the Sports Car Club of America's six race divisions in 1965.

In the history of the 1965 Ford Mustang many variants of the that award winning, star crowned, vehicle lit the horizon of the American automobile scene. The first of these was the Shelby, aimed at the higher end performance seekers. There were five of them; the Shelby GT-H, Shelby GT500KR, Shelby CS6/8, Shelby GT500E and the Shelby GT500 'Super Snake'. Other variants of the Mustang included the Ronaele, Roush, Steeda, and Saleen. These were all designed by third party interests working with Ford. Some of the in-house Ford creations of the Mustang were the ever popular Cobra's and the High Country Series. Ford also offered a Special Service Package for use by law enforcement.

The history of the 1965 Ford Mustang was further honored by being featured in the September 1964 release of the James Bond Movie, 'Goldfinger.'

The Dodge Challenger

In less time and more luxury, cars were made for the sole purpose of getting people from one place to another. Over time however, car designers began developing concept cars instead of for mere commuters. The cars became more stylish, powerful, However in 1970 the Dodge Challenger made a sporty car. This was a cult following development. A lot of people still have very much pride in driving the Dodge Challenger, Also driving with the dodge challenger decals on them.

The third-generation Dodge Challenger cars, first seen at the Chicago and Philadelphia motor exhibitions in the current year, have the same ravenous, sexy look of the first-generation Dodge Challenger. And thankfully, the world famous dodge challenger decals still feature on top of this coupe.

If you are the owner of a Dodge Challenger, are you aware that all the accessories for this auto can be found quite easily on the Internet, or from clubs that Dodge Challengers have formed in your locale? These even include the emblems and decals for the Challenger.

If you don't currently own this car but you'd love owning it, you've got two options. The first is to buy a Dodge Challenger, mint, from a current owner, then spruce it up by using Dodge Challenger strip kits.

Dodge challenger decals can be bought separately. You can pick between fender stripes, door stripes, rear panel stripes, and squeegee. Another option, specifically for the real enthusiast, involves buying a dodge challenger strip kit, where you can get all the accessories at once. These kits can be customized. Most of the decals are made from vinyl, while less commonly they can be made of composites, cloth-paper, and ceramics.

You could also wait till the subsequent batch of made-to-order Dodge Challenger is announced. The demand for these cars is overwhelming. This may require you to dish out more than the list price of the car. The additional amount you pay substantially augments your status as a proud owner of Dodge Challenger. The 2008 Mazda 3

Our long term vehicle is a mid-year model Mazda 3 with mid-year added features like piano black trim, mp3 compatible cd changer, power driver's seat, lighted vanity mirrors and white gauge needles. It also has a new color for the Mazda3: Metropolitan Gray Mica. Mazda added a second new color for the mid year model with a beautiful white pearl option but we are MGM people.

There are other subtle differences but outside of the above mentioned items the 2008.5 Mazda 3 is pretty similar to the 2008 Mazda3.

Specs

2008.5 Metropolitan Gray Mica Mazda 3s GT Transmission: Automatic Options: Six disc CD Changer, Bose Sound System, Moonroof, Rear Wing Spoiler, Remote Start and Auto Dimming Mirror with Compass.

Only six miles on the odometer at pickup...

About the Driver

I'm coming from a 2005 Infiniti G35x loaded with every possible option so while I adjusted my expectations for the lower price point ($22K with s-plan) I was not prepared for the way the Mazda3 would blow me away.

I drive my cars assertively (sometimes assertively aggressive if there is such a thing) and will really put this car through the motions during ownership. Driving a car is an experience each time and I rely heavily on important driving/comfort aspects like handling, acceleration, ride, cabin noise, long term driving comfort and in car technology which will all shape upcoming updates.

Note: You might notice a pretty heavy comparison in my first impressions of the G35 to the Mazda 3 and that's mostly due in part to the fact that I almost purchased the Mazda3 in 2005 but was offered a very good lease deal on a 2005 G35x loaded for nearly the same that I would pay to own the Mazda3.

Seemed like a good idea at the time. Biggest regret of my life.

Now that you know me, let's talk about why you're here: first impressions! First Impressions

There are a ton of really impressive features in this car! I struggled for a long time with not being technologically current in my 2005 Infiniti and the Mazda 3 is like an answer to my prayers. Here are some of my favorite features:

1) Remote Start - I can't believe how wicked cool remote start really is. Manufacturers are finally starting to offer remote start as an accessory that is installed at the port and I recommend it 200%. It's perfect for every possible hot/cold day when you don't feel like running out in the weather to start the car so it can warm up only to run back into the house and finish getting ready.

Remote start is something I could see myself not living without ever again and it wasn't an option on the Infiniti so +1 to Mazda for offering it. For the 2008.5 mid-year refresh, Mazda has integrated the remote start into the regular key fobs so now you won't have two sets of control keys to use on one set.

2) Rain Sensing Wipers - If you've never seen it, you wouldn't believe it. While driving home I didn't think the rain sensing wipers were working properly because the stalk appeared to be in the right position and it was raining pretty hard. I fiddled with the stalk for a little bit and discovered that it was in its "Off" position rather than "Auto". Once rotating the end piece into the right position it works quite well but I don't think putting "Off" and "Auto" within a knob's turn away was the best idea in the world.

3) The Manual Leveling HIDs - I don't know if it's manual really. It's kind of manual and automatic. You move the switch up or down until you reach the number you want (0 - 3) and the car adjusts the headlights to match that setting. The leveling headlights are not gimmicky at all and were pretty helpful while driving through fog and raising the headlights to watch for deer/pedestrians on the side of the road. Another brilliant feature the G35x was missing.

4) Aux Input - This is the golden feature for me! For the longest time (since 2005) I have always wanted a way to play my iPod in my car. I can't even begin to count the number of trips and meetings I've been late to while waiting for a cd to burn so I didn't have to listen to the same old crap in my car while driving there.

In fact, I wanted the aux input so bad that I refused the Mazda CX-7 when considering my next car purchase purely based on its lack of an aux input and it was worth it ten times over. I love being able to plug my iPhone into the stereo and just scroll through the playlists to find a list I'm feeling right now. It works seamlessly and I really couldn't be more ecstatic over this feature.

5) The Ride - Most people are going to give me a confused look but I'm telling you the 2008.5 Mazda3s GT has a nicer ride than my 2005 Infiniti G35x. Not only does it ride better but it's much quieter and it doesn't make the "Mothership" car sick when I drive with her in the car. Thumbs up all around!

So those are my top five favorite things about the car. Overall it's really just an experience that new car buyers have to try to believe because it's extremely uncommon at this price point. I'm finally excited to drive to different places just to be in the car and I love everything about it! If you don't own one, buy one. If you own one, buy a 2008.5 model! The new trim, power driver's seat, gauges and everything in between are worth it.

The 2010 Mazda 3

The 2010 Mazda 3 is no stranger to the automotive press with dozens of spy shots popping up over the past few months and speculative renderings coming from all around the world. Because the Mazda 3 is Mazda's top selling vehicle in the U.S. it's not hard to see why it is drawing in so much excitement surrounding its unveiling at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

The redesign couldn't come up at a better time for Mazda when, even in the midst of a languishing economy, the Mazda 3 continues to be a hot seller among the ultra competitive compact car segment against the likes of the newly revised Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.

Although nothing is set in stone (read: confirmed by Mazda) yet we have created a list of what to expect when the Mazda 3 is officially unveiled by Mazda:

First, the current 2.3 liter motor will be swapped out in favor of Mazda's 2.5 liter currently in the 2009 Mazda6. This will bring power up to around 170 hp, from the current 150-156 hp of the Mazda 3 s-line and will offer both a six speed manual transmission and a five speed sport automatic transmission. The Mazda 3 i-line is expected to carryover its 2.0 liter engine and transmission options.

Photos of the 2010 Mazda 3 prototype have showcased a new dual exhaust and large, more aggressively styled wheels. Its not yet known if the dual exhaust will remain exclusive to the s-line or if the base model i-line Mazda 3s will also receive the new exhaust setup

When it comes to design the 2010 Mazda 3 can best be described as evolutionary with a similar overall body profile and a few changes around the front and back. From the spy shots we can see styling cues borrowed from the new Mazda6 and up front, with flared wheel arches and an upwardly sculpted front bumper reminiscent of the recent Mazdaspeed RX-8 concept car.

One styling point that's hotly debated is whether Mazda will add pronounced, sweeping body lines along the side of the next Mazda 3 to evoke styling elements from Mazda's popular Nagare concept car. While Mazda may sample some Nagare concept styling we don't think the lines will be quite as aggressive.

Following the Mazda6's march towards luxury car dominance, the upcoming Mazda 3 has been spotted with previously unseen luxury amenities in the compact car segment like integrated mirror turn signals, Mazda's advanced keyless entry system with push button start, mp3 hard drive, and numerous steering wheel based controls.

These new features are in addition to the current Mazda 3's options including HID headlights, auto rain sensing wipers, auto on/off headlights, Bose sound system with aux input, lighted vanities, auto down driver's window, one-touch moonroof and power seat controls.

None of the new features listed above are set in stone (they were observed on what appeared to be a near final prototype model during testing) it is very likely that the features will remain and be available on the final retail product. The stage is set and Mazda will officially reveal the 2010 Mazda 3's design at the Los Angeles Auto Show which runs between November 17th and 26th.

The Ford Thunderbird

The Ford Thunderbird has been hailed as an American icon, preserved in film and song. The Beach Boys, the popular rock group of the 60's, put the Thunderbird to music in their song, "Fun, Fun, Fun"

"And she'll have fun, fun, fun

til her daddy takes the t-bird away"

The Saab Cars

Saab is marketing the cars by using the campaigns which was related to the aircraft maker of Sweden. The main motive behind this kind of campaigning of the car models is to popularize the car models and to emphasize on the fact that there cars had been born from jets. Another reason is that these cars have got the design of the aircraft aerodynamic. These kinds of tactics are adopted by the company to attract the people by saying that same technology is used in the manufacturing of the cars which is used in the planes.

Facts about Saab Company: -

The first automobile from the company was made in year 1949 which is currently under the General Motors which is now the largest automaker in the globe. Besides this, the jet division of Saab is separate one which is still owned by Swedes. So people are still confused whether GM and Saab are working together or they both have their own ways in the manufacturing of the vehicles.

Car models of Saab: -

Saab had been a leader in the production of the car models which are unique and serving the needs of the people. Pontiac Fiero

Loved by enthusiasts everywhere, the Pontiac Fiero is a great little American car. It is also one of the most inexpensive and practical electric car conversions you can find. The right amount of work and determination can allow you to create an Electric Vehicle (EV) with up to a sixty-five mile range at highway speeds with a driving speed of fifty-five to sixty miles per hour. This kind of EV can achieve a top speed of more than eighty-five miles per hour. You can even commute in this great electric vehicle to work, groceries shopping or just plain driving on a lazy Sunday.

If you were to send a Pontiac Fiero to be retrofitted into an electric car by a professional workshop, prepare to invest upwards of $4000. An alternative is to do the conversion yourself at your home garage. How do you retrofit a Fiero into an EV? This article will provide some useful information on the conversion process.

Step one of the conversions is removing all internal combustion engine components of the Pontiac Fiero and leaving all wiring for the chassis in place. Be sure to mark this wiring carefully. Keep the original clutch and flywheel, as well as the transmission. This produces a functional car chassis that works other than the fact that the engine and all related systems are missing. Then, clean the chassis to remove all the old dirt and grease from the old engine. They won't be coming back, after all.

Most conversions use a manual transmission vehicle for its simplicity. With the internal combustion engine and related components gone, it's a simple matter to bolt an electric motor in its place. One conversion used a nine inch advanced DC series wound motor, which is bolted to the flywheel. The original four speed transmission is left in place. To remove drag on the Fiero, the starter ring is bolted to the flywheel. It is important to balance the whole assembly before you put it back together. The conversion process literally replaces every part that has fluid running through it such as the gas tank, fuel lines and radiator with electrical wires and connectors.

Want to find out more on the process of converting a Pontiac Fiero into and Electric Vehicle? Visit the blog section of http://www.cbelectriccar.com/ for the Second Part of this article. Cut your fuel expense bill forever by exploring Pontiac Fiero Electric Car conversion guide.

Mazda Cars

Mazda: the hope of the Rotary Engine Models of the Mazda: - From the past time, Mazda had been known as the future of the sports car and their engines. Some of the few developed cars in the past were Mazda RX2, RX3, RX4, and RX7 and now the latest version is the Mazda RX8 which is best known for the successful rotator engines. Another point of success of the Mazda Company is the new Mazda 16x Rotary Engine which is well known for its combustion engine. The main feature of the engines of the Mazda is the compact design and fantastic power to weight ratio. And this all features are available in just the capacity of the 1.6 Liters.

Features of the engines of the Mazda: - The new name of the rotary engine of the Mazda is known as the "long-stroke rotary engine." In early times, the company was dealing with the 13V rotary engine which has the displacement of the 1300cc and the capacity was 1.3 Liters. Now the latest models of the Mazda are having the engines of displacement value of 1600cc which is 800cc x 2 and the capacity is 1.6 liters.

Another interesting fact about the latest engines of the Mazda is that the engines are larger than the size of 13B engines but the weight is less. The main reason behind this is that the side housings are made up of aluminum. The main motto of the company is to provide the greater thermal efficiency. This means that the super models of the car will be created by the company and also the engines will be having the increase torque which will increase the speed of the car. The torque can be increased by increasing the thermal efficiency of the engines. Rotary engines are the engines which are known for the low torque. Besides this, the Mazda is providing the feature of the Direct Fuel injection. And the compared rate of this feature is also less.

Another great thing is that the harmful emissions of the car will also will be reduced and also the power will be slightly increased as compared to the engines of the 13B which are common multi-point fuel injected engines. This results in the leaning of the are-fuel mixture and also improves the condition of the rotaries which usually get flooded with the dirt from streets and roads.

The main achievement of the company is to generate the sporty and light engines of 1.3 Liter and that too of 13B. But the main thing from the customer's point of view is that the Mazda has still not launched the engine is the market. Till now, only a prototype of the model had been launched which is going under testing conditions.

The Nissan Cube

While the Nissan Cube is set to premier at the Auto Show in November of this year, car enthusiasts are chomping at the bit to get a first look. What we know so far about the car is that it is (surprise!) shaped like a cube and comes in bright colors, such as orange, aqua, and off-colors of white. Sounds pretty snazzy so far, right?

Here's what else we know about this mystery car everyone is so anxious for a chance to see:

Its trunk alone is less than 150 inches long, that's less than the tiny Mazda MX-5, but still lager than the Mercedes-Benz S-class. 5 folks can comfortably fit inside the car. From side to side, the wheel base is less than 96 inches (or 5 feet), yet it's tall enough to accommodate even your tallest friends.

People are predicting that it will contain the 1.8-liter engine of the Nissan Versa and will get about 35 miles to the gallon. However, with its extremely light weight (about 2,500 pounds), you and a bunch of your friends may just choose to carry it from place to place. Driving, though, will take you from zero-to-60 in just 14 seconds or less with its 90-horse power engine.

According to those lucky folks that have had a chance to test drive the Cube, it's easy to drive and park. It should be, after all - it's so tiny and efficient. Plus, it has front-wheel drive with electric real-wheel drive assist and a four-speed automatic transmission on only a four-cylinder engine. You'll love the ample tinted windows, which virtually eliminate blind spots and bring in tons of light. Hey - even the wheels are cool-looking on this little guy!

So how much will this Cube cost? Right under $14,000- all 109 pound per feet of torque included.

The M1 Abrams

Military vehicles, like civilian vehicles, are important and crucial for military transportation and battlefield maneuvering. The most known military fighting vehicle is the M1 Abrams. The M1 Abrams is named after General Creighton Abrams. General Abrams was the commander of the 37th Armored Regiment and is the former Army Chief of Staff. The M1 Abrams is a heavily, armored, armed tank designed for ground warfare. The M1Abrams weighs close to 70 tons and has a gas turbine engine. The first M1 Abrams came into service in 1980 when it replaced the M60 Patton and the M48A5. There are three versions of the M1 Abrams that are in use today. They are the M1, the M1A1 and the M1A2.

The M1 Abrams is used by the United States Army and Marine Corps as well as the armies of Australia, Kuwait, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. They have been prominently used in the Gulf War, the Kosovo War and the Iraq War. The vehicles move at a speed of 42 MPH on the road and 30 MPH off the road on the earthy terrain. The M1 Abrams was designed by the Chrysler Defense division in 1979 and is manufactured by General Dynamics in Lima, Ohio. General Dynamics is defense company formed through many mergers and buyouts. It was originally founded in New York City in 1952 but its headquarters is now located in Falls Church, Virginia. They are now the sixth largest defense contractor in the world and originally produced the F-16 Fighting Falcon until selling it to Lockheed in 1993. General Dynamics has four facets of production. They are Marine Systems, Combat Systems, Information Systems and Technology and Aerospace.

Currently there are over 9,000 M1 Abrams in use by the United States Army and Marine Corps as well as vehicles being sold to the countries listed above that use them for their Armies. In the Gulf War, which took place in the early 1990s, 21 different M1 Abrams were either damaged or completely destroyed by enemy fire and sometimes even friendly fire. As a result of the 21 damaged or destroyed M1 Abrams in the Gulf War, there was only one soldier killed in action and 17 soldiers wounded in action. Those numbers are staggering. One killed and only 17 injured because of the armor that protects the M1 Abrams. The M1 Abrams has a crew of four people. They are the commander, the driver, the gunner and the loader.

The M1A1, an upgraded version of the M1 Abrams, was designed and first manufactured in 1985 for use by the United States Army and Marine Corps. The M1A2 version was designed and manufactured shortly after the M1A1 was released. With over 9,000 different versions of the M1 Abrams in production or already in service of the country and of the previously mentioned other countries' armies, the unit cost per vehicle ranges from $2.35-$4.30 million depending on different features. Most of the M1 Abrams tanks produced are painted with the green camouflage but the ones produced for service in the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan are being painted to match their desert surroundings.

Automatic Volvo Cars

Running an automatic Volvo tranny to the mechanic each time you notice problems can get extremely expensive. The best way to combat this is to learn the basics of your transmission. It also helps to learn how to identify some common problems so you can avoid purchasing remanufactured Volvo transmissions unnecessarily.

Identify The Main Systems Of A Tranny

Any of these parts involve the use of three main systems. The most common system most people work with is the fluid system. These parts simply will not work without adequate fluid, whether you are working with original or remanufactured Volvo transmissions. This involves a series of hoses, fluid, and a filter to ensure that water and dirt stay out of the interior components. Fluid runs through, keeping the gearing and everything else lubricated.

When you shift, it moves a certain series of gears that move the vehicle into the correct direction and force. This gearing system is the entire purpose of this drive part. Your vehicle will not work if the gearing system is not in perfect condition. In this system, there are large primary gears and smaller gears called 'planetaries' enclosed in a rounded metal casing called the 'bell housing.' This is the third main system.

Common Problems

Look through and eliminate a few of the common problems that can occur with an automatic tranny. The majority of these deal with the fluid system. Being low or out of fluid is the first thing to check. If it is low, check for leaks at the connection between the tranny and the motor, the filler tube, around the speed sensor, and the drain valve at the bottom. If you can't see anything, check the coolant in the radiator for an increased level or the presence of a contaminant. The last option is to change the filter to see if the problem clears up or persists.

Time To Consider Remanufactured Volvo Transmissions

The sound of grinding metal, failure to shift into gear, refusing to stay in gear, and loud knocking or severe lunging are common signs that it is time to consider a rebuilt part. This is particularly true if you can't find anything wrong with the lubricant system or if you have and were too late in identifying the problem. At this point, you are best to send the part to a specialist to have it investigated and repaired. It is a costlier repair than simply changing a hose or adding fluid, however remade trannies are generally guaranteed for a considerable amount of time.

Narrowing down the possible problem with a tranny can significantly lower your vehicle maintenance bill. By eliminating the possible problem from the outside, you will decrease the down time needed to deal with the issue. If you do need to look for remanufactured Volvo transmissions, always work with a reputable expert in your particular brand of part to ensure the job is done correctly. The rebuilt versions can last just as long as the original manufactures, and sometimes even longer if they are performed correctly making them well worth the money.

When it comes to prices, the car is relatively cheaper. Compared to the other cars, Focus costs less while having more features and a slightly powerful engine.

Ford has certainly succeeded in overhauling its Focus models including making Ford Focus contract hire popular. Although the body chassis is still the same, the additions have definitely made the 2008 Ford Focus more fun and comfortable to drive on for personal or contract hire users.

Honda Civic

Everyone understands that with gas prices topping $3 or $4 per gallon, monthly gas prices can be more than a car payment. We recommend everyone buy a honda civic. We have realized that a low cost, attractive and reliable vehicle is needed to offset the new inflated gas costs in our economy. Studies have shown that driving a honda civic can save thousands of dollars over the life span of a vehicle for gas, maintenance as well as overall vehicle cost. The Honda Civic is absolutely a great choice.

When shopping for a honda civic you must take a few things in to consideration. You must research out the invoice pricing, this can be done easily online. You must also decide what options you want and need.

With an Estimated 34 highway miles per gallon you are sure to save money. Lets say you currently drive a dodge ram truck that gets an average of 13 miles per gallon. However you could drive a honda civic with an average 29 miles per gallon. If you drove the average 16,000 miles per year you would save an amazing amount. With the honda you would buy 551 gallons of gas in one year. Now lets consider you drove the truck, you would buy 1230 gallons in a year. Lets take that in to consideration when paying $3.50 per gallon. You are buying an extra 679 gallons of gas per year. With the Dodge Ram you would be spending an extra $2376 per year on fuel, that is an extra $200 per month. Then take in to consideration insurance expenses, lower prices to wash your vehicle, maintain your vehicle, and less repair costs from a more reliable vehicle. You could literally save 20-30 thousand dollars over the life span of your vehicle over a 7-10 year period.

Its really time to take these huge prices in to consideration so you can start saving money on your vehicle expenses. There are obviously other great vehicles on the market as well. Shop around and be savvy. Research out your overall expenses and put some money back in your own pocket.

Studies have shown that the Honda Civic outperforms most all vehicles in being affordable and reliable. You need to buy a vehicle that will lower monthly expenses and also lower large costs that can arise from a poorly functioning vehicle. We believe that the Honda Civic meets and exceeds both of these requirements.

Hydrogen Powered Vehicles

HPVs, or hydrogen powered vehicles, have been the subject of many controversies in the past three decades. Engineers, scientists, environmentalists, political figures and automobile and plane manufacturers and even random individuals have done in depth studies on this matter. There are stories about water powered cars and hybrids that have been demonstrated successfully. There are so many angles to consider in this technology.

There are two basic ways that an that an automobile can run on power from hydrogen:

• Hydrogen Combustion - this is the process of burning hydrogen in an engine in the same way gasoline is burned in a car.

• Fuel Cell Conversion - this is a process wherein hydrogen is converted directly into energy without combustion. There are already demonstrations of cars that run on fuel cells. There are also hybrid cars that are fitted with a fuel cell and a battery or with a fuel cell and an ultracapacitor.

Advantages of Using Hydrogen

The advantages of using hydrogen are numerous. The first upside is that hydrogen is non-polluting. Theoretically, the by-product of cars that run on water or on hydrogen is still water. This means that if cars were to run on water fuel, there would be lesser poisonous gases in the air. Another positive point about hydrogen is that it is safer to use than petrol. We all know that gasoline and other fossil fuel products are flammable. This is a safety hazard. Using hydrogen can eliminate this possible danger.

The Basic Equation

In water-fueled cars, or in cars that use HHO generators, the common factors are hydrogen and oxygen. As we all know, water is made up of two atoms of H and one atom of O. The basic equation for this is that water is electrolyzed, oxyhydrogen is burned as a fuel. During combustion, water is regained, thus, the fuel is again ready to be electrolyzed.

Hybrids

Probably the most successful vehicles that use hydrogen are the hybrids. As mentioned earlier, hybrid cars are those that have the features of hydrogen-run and standard cars. Many automobile makers have had success in creating hybrid car models. Some are even on the market now.

There are currently numerous studies to make the use of hydrogen or water fuelled cars more available to the general public at a cost that is friendly on the pockets. Many environmentalists regard this as the one of the safest routes into a bright the future.

Read this full guide that teaches you step by step on how to run a car on water using an easy to assemble hydrogen generator for car for less than $90 with parts from any local hardware store.

Best SUV Cars Fuel Economy

If you are looking for the best SUV fuel economy vehicle you might want to look at the two vehicles Jeep has on the market; the Patriot and the Compass. Both vehicles provide many SUV benefits while you can save on gas mileage as if you were in a compact car.

The Jeep Compass is a very affordable vehicle for being the considered the best SUV fuel economy car on the market. This jeep is an all-wheel drive vehicle offered in a standard or a manual transmission. The seats fold down for maximum storage. The gas mileage is from 21-30 mpg in the city and 24-28 mpg on the highway. The disadvantages of this SUV is that it is not very off-road capable and doesn't have much of a capability to tow. The acceleration of this vehicle is not full of luster. However, it is designed to be the best SUV for gas mileage. You are paying for the look of this vehicle for around $17,000 to $23,000.

The Patriot made by Jeep is another SUV best fuel economy vehicle with the very same highway miles as the Compass. This vehicle can be bought cheaper than the Compass at just $16k. The interior is very cheap and there isn't much power but it is considered to be the best SUV on the market.

If you are looking for the best SUV fuel economy vehicle it is important to think about what you want in a car. Jeep offers to vehicles that look like SUVs but with no capabilities of an SUV if you want to take them off-road. You can get fuel efficiency in a nice looking vehicle. It depends on what your needs are for a vehicle.

Chevy Trucks

A Collectors Guide to Buying Old Chevy Trucks

Old Chevy Trucks are becoming more popular with the collectors, this becomes evident if you have been to a old truck show lately. The restoration of old Chevy trucks is more popular now then ever. Why is it that old Chevy trucks,in particular the 67-72 models, that has everyone looking to rebuild one? Maybe it is the memories of dad or grandpas old work truck that is driving a bit of it, but I am going to say it probably has more to do with the great look and feel of these old trucks. Here is a outline of the late 60's and early 70's old Chevy trucks. If you are interested in learning more, I suggest you read the article : A Collectors Guide To Old Chevy Trucks.

1969
Who could ever forget the 1969 model? This was the year a classic engine was made available, the 350 cid V-8. Although the Chevy 350 small block is still produced in Mexico today, its last production run in the US was 2002. The funny thing is this is one engine size you will find cut across manufacturers lines being available in GM and Ford model vehicles. '69 was also the first year for the K-5 Blazer.

1970

The grille was one small differnce between '69 and '70. Other then that, there was very little change.

1971

The trim options where increased, but the body style remained the same in 1971.More padding and chrome were added depending on which option you chose; all options were geared towards comfort and looks. It is important to note that this was the year AM/FM radios were available installed on your new Chevy truck, and weren't we all glad to finally have FM in the truck?

1972

Other than changing the position of the rear view mirror and adding some wood grain to the interior of some of the models, Chevy did not alter the design much in the 1972 model year.

This concludes my short overview of the late 60's and early 70's old Chevy trucks. I have been restoring old Chevy trucks for over 10 years, and am currently posting as much information as I can at my Old Trucks For Sale blog. There you will find the complete article on collecting old trucks, as well as usefull resorces for locating deals on old chevy trucks for sale, as well as researching the value of your truck.

Understanding what you can put into a old Chevy truck to maintain its value of an original classic and be usefull, when you are considering a resto job. Knowlege of what bolt hole patterns changed in the '71 model year can be advantageious.

For $500 Car Auctions?

$500 cars for sale? I know, I know it sounds kind of fishy. Like a scam or some of the details are left out such as the car needs a motor or only starts when the wind is blowing easy. But it really is possible to get a good running car for $500. I'm not saying it going to be your dream car or win any awards but it will get you from point A to point B.

Where can I buy these cars you might ask. Well the answer is pretty simple and probably one you heard of before... go to a car auction! Sure you can get $500 cars from places like craigslist or the tow yard. But, trust me, they are not even worth $50. Most of the cars there have serious mechanical problems that will be a pain in the butt to repair. Once I even saw a car that was in a fire for sale. Who in their right mind would want to buy that? Not me for sure.

So if you want a pretty cheap car, go to your local car auction. Since we're just about in a recession, the amount of repossessed cars in on the rise. Meaning their loss is your gain. Now it's easier than ever to get a good car for thousands less than what you would pay at the dealership. A few days ago one of my co-workers got a pretty hot car at a car auction for only $600. I know, I know... that's not $500, but it's still dirt cheap!

You're best bet when looking for a good, cheap car that isn't going to start smoking after you drive down the street is to join a car auction site. But, be careful because the majority of them are scams. Thankfully MyCarAuctionReview.com has put together a list of the best sites you can join that are trustworthy in addition to having thousands of auction listings with some cars even selling for as low as $500.

Minivans Are the Most Efficient?

There isn't a van that comes close to matching being the best in gas mileage vehicles for a minivan like the Mazda Mazda5. This is the most fuel efficient giving you 21 mpg in the city and up to 28 mpg on the highway. This van is sporty looking and the front and second row seats are very comfortable and provide reclining features. This cabin in this van is noisy on the highway and the cargo space is very limited.

The next best thing in the best gas mileage vehicles in the minivan class is the Kia Rondo. This van can provide up to 19 mpg in the city and 26 on the highway, just under what the Mazda5 offers. The seating and capacity of the cargo is very spacious and there are a ton of neat features of the van. The downside is that it is not very stylish and the interior is very cheap. You can opt for a third row seat but it does not come with the van and is a tight fit when in the van.

Mini-vans are important for people who have a large family but need the best gas mileage vehicles they can find. The two best for gas include the Rondo and the Mazda5. The space seems to be compromised in the two vehicles to make them more lightweight for the gas benefit. Mini-vans are a better solution if you are taking a road trip and need the trip to be as affordable as possible. Full size vans won't get near the gas mileage on the highway or in the city, but they provide the luxury.

BMW and Bluetooth Technology

Some bad news for folks who cannot stay off of your cell phones: state and local legislatures are starting to crack down. Because of the increasing number of motor vehicle accidents caused by distracted drivers who attempt to have phone conversations while behind the wheel, more and more states and municipalities are passing stringent laws against cell phone usage whilst a vehicle is in motion and still penalties for those found in violation.

The good news is that in most cases, hands free cell phone usage is still allowed. A hands-free device for BWM phone users was one of the earliest such pieces of equipment, made possible by the technological miracle of BMW Bluetooth.

Today, most BMW phone users can easily connect their cell phones to their bmw bluetooth systems. The technology installed in all new BMW 3-Series vehicles as well as the X3 and X5 SUVs and the Z4, M3 and M4 roadster can automatically transfer a call-in-progress to the bmw bluetooth system as on enters the vehicle BMW phone users can continue their conversations hands-free while driving.

This process requires of course that your vehicle is equipped with BMW Bluetooth and that you have both a Bluetooth passkey and that your BMW phone is in fact Bluetooth enabled.

First, start the vehicle. Your BMW Bluetooth automatically goes into pairing mode for the first two minutes of vehicle operation.

Next, you'll need to call up the Connections menu on your cell phone and select the device search function. Once you see an ID code on the screen starting with BMW it an enter the BMW Bluetooth passkey. You'll note whether or not the pairing process was successful by looking at the radio display, indicating that your data is downloading into your bmw phone system. Once this has been completed, simply make a test call.

1934 Ford Coupe

The 1934 Ford Coupe is a great tour car when properly restored and balanced. It is one of the most collected cars in the United States. The very rare Flathead V-8 is also on display, as well as the Midnight Pontiac that was driven to victory many times by Rusty Wallace. And is typical of the time, money and sheer hard work that goes into making a work of art on wheels. At first glance, this car did not look all that different than the 1933, and ads even boasted that There is nothing experimental about this new car. It is featured a reshaped grille with a thicker surround, a more pronounced V, straight bars, and a new V-8 emblem.

This 1934 Ford Truck, adapted to run on rail, started life as a Berkshire Valley Models kit. Registered in NY state, this fiber body reproduction represents the very best in classic reproductions. As a finishing touch, Cowl lights were converted to stop/tail/directional lights using red lenses. You Build Yourself one puts you in the driver seat, with you calling the shots on just how to build, customize and accessorize your version of the American Dream. Spun aluminum fuel tank and custom fabricated grille, electric and mechanical radiator fans 1937 / 1934 dash board custom fabricated tech instruments quad series, wiring PIONEER Stereo sound with two other types of insulation/custom interior design by owner / application.

A gorgeous 1934 Ford street rod driven regularly by Jim Groves was selected as Cruiser of the Month at the July 3 cruise in of the Roaming Oldies Car Club. How many times have you wished you had an extra seat in your street rod so that you could enjoy cruising with the family, the grand kids or friends. Using a 34 roadster body to build a custom is not the most popular choice and most people probably never even think as anything but a hot rod. From on special at first glance it is a clean, classy, but then you notice the five header pipes on both sides. The most popular steering gears swapped among speed and hot rod enthusiasts was the 1934 steering gear units.

1934 Ford and need to source some spares parts for the car And it modified to fit master cylinder and new clutch system. 1949/50 Retro Rod, newly built on a nice clean 1993 T-bird, with the 3,6 liter large V6 500k Special Roadster with a title, new crate 350 V8 motor, one of the nicest one we have ever had. With this in mind, I decided to build a new car, even lighter than my trusty coupes. At first glance, the Deluxe Ford did not look all that different than the 1933, and Ford ads even boasted that there is nothing experimental about this new car. This hot rod with chopped top would be a great addition to any collection. Hot rod project pictures and information are also included, as well as info on how to build your own rotisserie.

Key to Making Your Tires Last Longer

As you drive around negotiating the potholes and difficult road conditions and bad weather, slowly but steadily the alignment of your car wheel changes. You will first notice that your front wheels are pulling at one direction and then that it gets more and more difficult to maintain the straight path. This is a clear indication that you need to check the wheel alignment.

If you are face rough driving conditions in a regular basis, then the wheel alignment will change faster while if you have normal driving conditions, the wheel alignment will still change, albeit slowly. Ideally you should check the wheel alignment once in every six months and every time that you change tires. Wheel alignment has three important steps. A basic understanding of these three will help you get a grip of the concept and understand how misaligned your wheels are.

Caster: When a sideward viewing of the steering axis reveals a tilt of the steering axis at its uppermost point, it is referred to as caster. Caster influences the directional steering of the vehicle. The height of the vehicle generally affects the caster. A sagging rear because of overloading the vehicle will affect the caster positively while a higher rear may make the steering veer easily at high speed.

Toe: Toe measures the distance by which the front or the rear wheels are peering out or in from the straight axis. In order to help the wheels roll parallel in motion, the toe should be minimum.

Camber: Camber indicates if the wheels are tilted with respect to the vertical axis when viewed from the front part of the vehicle. The wheels could be tilted outward or inward at the top in a camber. Camber affects the wear caused in tires because of changes in direction. Thus camber would result in premature wearing of either the inner part or the outer part of the tire based on the tilt.

Now to get the best set of wheels and to ensure that the alignment is correct you need to do business with premier organizations. The internet is a sure shot place to solve all your wheeling needs. You can find the best replacement parts for your vehicle and you are also definitely going to get the best deals that are available online. To enhance the durability and quality of your car wheels remember that you must ensure that the wheels are correctly aligned.

The wheels must be aligned parallel to each other and these should also be perpendicular to the road. Thus once you have your great set of wheels remember to install the wheels correctly keeping in mind the caster, toe and camber that we had previously discussed, so that you get a smooth ride and a long life from your set of wheels.
