Ford Motor Company

North America and Australia are 2 of the constituencies and regions which has been specified the occasion to become acquainted with the Ford LTD. The Ford LTD is derived from the Ford Motor Corporation. Populace has without doubt been questioning nevertheless just what the 3 epistles LTD stand for. A number of people guess that it stand for Limited. On the other hand, the Ford Motor corporation of Australia declares that the Ford LTD merely stand for Lincoln Type Design.

History of Ford Motor Company:

In the United States of America and the other parts of North America, together with Mexico, the Ford LTD emerge as a row of comfort automobiles that were designed and constructed to survive as huge ones. At primary instance, the name, LTD, was recognized as merely an alternative for Ford Galaxie. On the other hand, it almost immediately became a detached form on its own in 1967.

Afterward, the fabrication of the Ford Galaxie was brought to a standstill and the Ford LTD gathered the possession over the spot evacuated by the Galaxie. In the year 1977, two Ford LTDs emerged out. The complete size translation was identified as the Ford LTD whereas the supplementary one became identified as the Ford LTD II. Both of these forms were accessible with a variety of body fashions that consist of the following:

1) The coupe 2) the sedan 3) the wagon

There were additional alternatives provided to this motor vehicle. In actual fact, 1 of these alternatives was the grilles. Two of these were there. One of it apprehended a lower line with a solo rectangle headlight whereas, conversely, the second one was a finer devise with duals. The previous was continually and frequently seen on law enforcement automobiles.

In the US, the Ford LTD emerged as the 3rd most excellent selling automobile for the duration of 1983 and 1984. This means of transportation continued until the year 1991. And in the year 1992, it was rescanned and was fashioned as a sedan barely. This one was then advertised and placed for sale as the Ford Crown Victoria which is in addition one of the well-liked means of transportation and in addition used extensively as law enforcement automobiles.

A note about Ford exhausts system:

The Ford exhaust arrangement cleanly submits to the machinery which put across the blistered gases from an inner ignition locomotive and it characteristically comprises a compilation of pipes. To put it briefly, it merely escapes gases from the locomotive. The exhaust gases actually run all the way through a turbocharger to augment locomotive supremacy. A catalytic converter is in addition an ingredient of the Ford exhaust arrangement which has the explicit purpose of dropping air contamination.

Wheel Alignment

As you drive around negotiating the potholes and difficult road conditions and bad weather, slowly but steadily the alignment of your car wheel changes. You will first notice that your front wheels are pulling at one direction and then that it gets more and more difficult to maintain the straight path. This is a clear indication that you need to check the wheel alignment.

If you are face rough driving conditions in a regular basis, then the wheel alignment will change faster while if you have normal driving conditions, the wheel alignment will still change, albeit slowly. Ideally you should check the wheel alignment once in every six months and every time that you change tires. Wheel alignment has three important steps. A basic understanding of these three will help you get a grip of the concept and understand how misaligned your wheels are.

Caster: When a sideward viewing of the steering axis reveals a tilt of the steering axis at its uppermost point, it is referred to as caster. Caster influences the directional steering of the vehicle. The height of the vehicle generally affects the caster. A sagging rear because of overloading the vehicle will affect the caster positively while a higher rear may make the steering veer easily at high speed.

Toe: Toe measures the distance by which the front or the rear wheels are peering out or in from the straight axis. In order to help the wheels roll parallel in motion, the toe should be minimum.

Camber: Camber indicates if the wheels are tilted with respect to the vertical axis when viewed from the front part of the vehicle. The wheels could be tilted outward or inward at the top in a camber. Camber affects the wear caused in tires because of changes in direction. Thus camber would result in premature wearing of either the inner part or the outer part of the tire based on the tilt.

Now to get the best set of wheels and to ensure that the alignment is correct you need to do business with premier organizations. The internet is a sure shot place to solve all your wheeling needs. You can find the best replacement parts for your vehicle and you are also definitely going to get the best deals that are available online. To enhance the durability and quality of your car wheels remember that you must ensure that the wheels are correctly aligned.

The wheels must be aligned parallel to each other and these should also be perpendicular to the road. Thus once you have your great set of wheels remember to install the wheels correctly keeping in mind the caster, toe and camber that we had previously discussed, so that you get a smooth ride and a long life from your set of wheels.

Choosing from the two companies of BMW and Audi would definitely be depending on the buyer's preferences and general taste for BMW leasing and possibly Audi leasing. Both car ranges offer different yet powerful specifications ideal for contract hire options.

The M5 is equipped to take you and your entourage anywhere you want to go, equipped to seat five passengers comfortably, there is plenty of room for everyone to fit without feeling the least bit cramped.

Although the M5 appears to have a modest look, don't let the exterior fool you. This BMW is probably faster than most other cars in its class. Not only does it beat out others with its fast speed it also has impeccable stopping capabilities as well as handling capabilities that will take turns and rough patches with ease.

This high speed BMW doesn't just come with a speedy athletic package it also the brains the too. The M5 comes standard with an MDrive that is located on the steering wheel. The MDrive button will allow the driver to customized their favorite settings and the car will remember it for next time. If you travel a certain path to work every day, this BMW will memorize every mile you pass. Smart and sophisticated, what more could you ask for?

Because of a few added bells and whistles, this BMW M5 doesn't come cheap, although above average, the price tag is well worth it. Enjoying the life that you have worked hard to maintain makes it all that more pleasurable with the BMW M5. Sometimes things are actually better on the inside than from how they appear on the outside and the BMW M5 is a good example of that.

The Dodge Super Bee

People buying the Dodge Super Bee probably will not care any more about the car low grade interior than they do about CO2 emissions warming/cooling the planet. I have family that sold an original 1969 440 Six Pack, that drove fine and it is paint even still looked good for $60,000 to a guy over the phone that did not even take it for a test drive. The markup does not appear to have lasted long, just purchased one in Texas for below manufacturer suggested retail price in July 2008. They gave it a newly stylized hood, sporting the dual hood scoops.

The Dodge Super Bee two door cars came in two styles, the hard top, and the coupe, the hard top style being the best seller. And was a powerful car especially with the 440 V-8 Wedge engine. One would probably not guess it by the name, but it was a limited production muscle car and produced from 1968 through 1971. But it still remained popular with buyers looking for high performance at a reasonable cost. It follows in the same tradition of the famous muscle cars from the past. And near Colorado they display the merchandise items of the makers including since 1978 taking your parts to one of each new model.

In the next read we will be adding parts for Dodge Super Bee. We sell Diesel Truck that most Truck Additives to being effective Dodge brakes for your Ford parts to products available. This is how it will appear on your car profile. The theme of street rod is the heavy breathing excitement of late 60s muscle cars. It bears the stripe that is similar to the one that can be found on the old Charger, and Challenger. More than that, those numbers put it ahead, which had a Six Pack 440-cubic-inch engine putting out 390 horse power and 390 of torque, good for quarter mile times of 13 seconds flat at 110 miles per hour right out of the box.

The Six Pack was previously used on the mid year 1969 Dodge Super Bee and Plymouth Road Runner. It was made the move from the Coronet line to the Charger line for 1971 only, then the model was discontinued. My local car dealer, that I had purchased several new cars, was playing games with the purchase of a new car. The body work and paint, all personal consumer information submitted through this web site will be held confidential within the company. This is as my first car and the subject of hot rod operation buildup of the early 90s, that was my first choice.

A few lines seem to have come straight from someone that has never been near the cars. For example, the Dodge Super Bee and Plymouth Road Runner had identical bodies. It is a full numbers matching with a 383 4 speed combination and a lot of rare options. We have also just purchased an all numbers matching 383 4 speed which will be starting its restoration in the fall. This is as my first car and the operation buildup.

Ford, Dodge, and Chevy Muscle Cars

Back during the 1950s through the mid 1970s, Detroit automakers produced several cars that were out and out “muscle” cars. These types of vehicles shared the same characteristics: they were two door coupes with souped up engines, responsive transmissions, an aggressive exterior design, and a sporty interior. High fuel prices and changing tastes eventually limited sales to the point where only a few models were produced beyond that period of time. Today, muscle car mania is back, despite even higher gas prices. Thanks to the Ford Mustang and to a lesser extent to sedan and wagon models from Dodge, there is new interest in a category long given up. The future is bright for the muscle car segment as one more manufacturer, Chevrolet, considers bringing back one of its darlings of yesteryear, the Camaro.

Besides the Ford Mustang there were a whole host of vehicles produced that at one time or another might have been considered a muscle car. In addition to the Mustang, the Ford Fairlane 500 and Ford Torino did duty; the Mercury Montego was another model; Chevrolet produced the Camaro and Corvette; Pontiac the GTO, Firebird, and Tempest; Olds the 442; American Motors’ had its Javelin; Plymouth had the ‘Cuda, and Dodge produced the Challenger and the Charger. Today, only the Mustang and Corvette survives although the Dodge Charger has returned as a four door muscle car along with its sibling, the hot Dodge Magnum wagon.

Interestedly, it took Ford’s redoing of the Mustang for the 2005 model year to stir the current muscle car era craze. Styled after Mustangs built in the 1960s, the current Mustang embraces a retro look while incorporating contemporary technology. The result has been that the Mustang currently sells its entire 150,000 model capacity without incentives.

The Mustang has been inspiring DaimlerChrysler to go ahead with a retro cruiser of its own. The Dodge Challenger concept car, appearing at auto shows across the USA, has been a huge hit and Chrysler plans on bringing the V8 hemi powered model back in 2009. In addition, General Motors is considering giving its blessing on the Camaro, another car also making the rounds of the USA auto show circuit.

So, isn’t it silly to bring back such gas hogs? Back during the early 1970s, the then current crop of muscle cars averaged only 10-12 miles to the gallon around town and 15 or 16 miles per gallon on the highway. Thanks to computer technology and efficiency, even the Corvette returns a highly respectable 28 miles to the gallon the highway. So, although fuel mileage will certainly be lower than many other models, the new group of muscle cars will still better the previous generation cars with fuel mileage 80% or more above the cars from the 1970s.

Fortunately, we still live in a fairly free country and what the consumer wants, the consumer gets. So, V8 powered muscle cars mated to 6 speed manu-matic transmissions, with sport handling, bucket seats, and better fuel economy will likely appeal to many. No, they won’t be exact duplicates of yesterday’s muscle cars, but they will provide the nostalgia and power that motorists seek. I can’t wait!

Here you can compare prices and buy the best {a href=“http://www.autopartsusa.info“}auto parts for any vehicle.

The Dodge Viper

Dodge Viper is the ultimate muscle car. And is a modern American muscle car icon. The engine is a V10 powered sports car. Apart from the mandatory front airbags, which now have multistage deployment and occupant sensing technology, safety equipment is sparse. It is one of the fastest production cars in the world. And is quick, has good handling and looks great. With horsepower and handling that already rival many race cars. And is pure unfettered driving performance, with none of the trimmings. It is one of those cars that demands attention, even when it is sitting still.

The Dodge Viper is a two seat sports car and is being considered as the most powerful car made. The interior is plush and is designed with optimum control of the vehicle in view. And is not only beautiful to look at, it is affordable and fun as well. It is primarily made of seven component modules, instrument panel, fuel tank, suspension corner modules, wheels and tires, cooling module, lift gate assembly and full dressed engine. And is tested in place on the assembly line utilizing special rollers. Under strategic review they announced today the it is under strategic review in order to ensure a strong future for model.

The Dodge Viper is designed to provide the power, handling and performance that only the most skilled drivers can fully exploit. In many ways, it is a carrying case for the V-10 engine under the lengthy hood. In short, getting stuck in traffic is not a good time. With horsepower and handling that rival many race cars it is a symbol of a true American sports car created by passion for ultimate performance and styling, a definite race car for the streets. What you can see at the interior is a leather wrapped steering wheel and throughout the cabin are satin chrome accents and leather trimming. And is a big part of the racing history.

The Dodge Viper is different from most performance cars, because of a very specific X-factor. More in the category of ultra high performance American sports cars, it is joined this year by the exotic Ford Mustang, a car priced considerably higher, and the Corvette Z06, with 505 horse power and a price of only $65,000, but do not expect to get one for that. And is a two seat sports car, the most powerful production car. It is the first vehicle to go into production with patented camshaft technology. And is the last generation of sports car and has a 600 hp engine, very powerful American car. And is the bad boy for under $100,000. More than just a car, it is an icon.

The car owners manual might recommend premium fuel, the manual for a Beetle almost certainly does not. Corvette is very similar and Ford Mustang. By the way, the 7 liter Corvette more than competes, which could give the standard Corvette a bit of a run for its money. In the 90s, the eagerly anticipated Dodge Viper put the muscle back in muscle cars. All of which soon culminated in the new, aggressive look on the Dodge Ram Pickup, Dakota and Durango.

Audi Cars 2009

Among the many high performance car brands Audi has been a favourite amongst many enthusiasts for the past few years, popular models such as the A3 and the TT Roadster have been subject to all manner of interesting and powerful upgrades to increase the power of the car and quench the thirst for speed.

Newer models recently on the market like the RS6 and the R8 (recently featuring in the hit movie Ironman) have re-ignited the interest of petrol heads everywhere. The best part of performance tuning Audi cars is that you are able to tune up almost any car from the current range whether it's the family saloon A4 or the already beefy hot hatches like the RS range.

Performance tuning Audi best suits models like Quattros, Turbo diesels and supercharged models, once you've decided what car you are going to modify you're spoilt for choice when it comes to what parts to replace or alter.

Whether you are looking to improve the handling with a new Limited Slip-Diff or you are craving an extra few horses under the bonnet you could perform an upgrade with a number of Audi Tuning Parts such as new ECU or forced induction from Turbo systems.

But car tuning isn't all about power and performance, whilst it's still a very important part of it, the visual appearance of your car needs to match the cool things that it can do on the road or a race track. Aside from custom paint jobs and graphics applied to the side and bonnets of your car many Audi Tuning companies will lower your car's suspension to create a sleeker appearance - just make sure you take it easy going over speed bumps!

Other modifications you can make include weight reduction; there are a number of ways to make your Audi lighter and a lot of it involves utilising carbon fibre: the versatile compound that can be made into anything from wing mirrors to custom bonnets. Carbon fibre door inserts can help bring the weight of your car's doors down to racing specification if you were to go as far to remove most of your interior upholstery.

Obviously that's the high end of the scale, not all of us want to sacrifice the luxury for speed but that's the beauty of Audi tuning you can choose to upgrade one or a few elements and you'll potentially increase your car's power or fuel economy, sometime even both! There are many resources on the internet and also dedicated performance stores who can advise you further on how to improve your Audi no matter how much you are wishing to spend.

There are many Audi Tuning Companies that specialise in making your car perform to the top of it's ability. With the wide range of Audi Tuning Parts available for almost every aspect of the Audi Tuning cars it's easier to custom tune any particular aspect of your Audi's ride.

The Legendary 426 Hemispherical Engine

The 426 hemispherical engine is slowly and carefully being assembled. And is a popular power plant for drag racing, funny cars and muscle cars. It is regarded as the best muscle car engine, so using the best engine design for horsepower makes sense when you are trying to go as fast as possible in mile. And is of the one important most in innovations history. In 1990, Car and Driver wrote that it is unquestionable the king of the muscle cars, both for its speed and for its defiance. And is considered one of the greatest engines ever produced and continues to be the go to engine for street racers.

This engine is, far and away the greatest engine ever built. Once your it is up and running, check out the Visible V8 Model Engine Kit, which includes the illustrated guide, How an Auto Engine Works. It is one of those automotive legends that is best remembered in myth. The aluminum engine is known as, a wet sleeve design using centrifugally cast steel cylinder liners and a two piece block consisting of a main portion and a one piece crank support called a girdle. Under that lift off hood, the dual quad and is stroked to 472 cubes for racing, generating in excess of 650 hp.

Supercharged it is an intricately detailed and realistic scale replica, featuring a detailed blower case with real compression springs and bolts. It is brand new with only 150 mile on it, and with all new upgrades. Even though more rule changes ended its days in the early 70s, and emissions laws and gas prices ended its street career, it is still the engine of choice in professional drag racing. A 426 hemispherical engine is a fairly exotic and expensive engine. It is possibly buy the most expensive muscle car engine to obtain today.

But either way it is just a crazy engine and always produced more then any other engine of its time which is why it is still used in drag racing especially in top fuel cars with 8000 estimated horsepower. And is unquestionably the king of the muscle cars, both for its speed and for its defiance, putting this edition of intermediates among his ten best all time muscle cars. And the original one is currently running at 2000 Revolutions Per Minute for 20 minutes for the cam to break in. The history of the legendary 426 hemispherical engine is also featured in great detail to supplement information on new generation 5.

The 426 hemispherical engine is one of the most famed production engines in American automotive history. However it will be hard to fit in an early mustang; it is a big and wide engine. And is while the last year it appeared in a production vehicle was 1971, it is still available from to this day as a crate engine. The Road Runner is my all time favorite intermediate muscle coupe. And it is the coolest of the cool, I am pleased to say the 440 2 barrel carburetors 6 pack, 3" crossover pipes in this puppy are more than enough to put an ear to ear grin on my face.

The 426 hemispherical engine is the King of the street and Strip. On the other hand, perhaps the 1965 Dodge Coronet is more your speed. Modern Combat Aircraft, Crescent Books It is unquestionably the king of the muscle cars, both for its speed and for its defiance. It is fine for the drag strip. They will be in the low fives to high fours before the end of the year now that it is once again legal to run. And is probably tops though for sheer brute horsepower. It is my favorite engine of all time and the AC Cobra my favorite car of all time. An original 318 cubic inch 1970 Plymouth Satellite is worth the price of the engine plus something for the family car shell. Full Blown 426 hemispherical engine is in full, bragging hot-rod vocal mode and provides a fine time. It is regarded as the best muscle car engine, so using the best engine design for horsepower makes sense when you are trying to go as fast as possible in ¼ mile.

The 2008 Mazda 3

Our long term vehicle is a mid-year model Mazda 3 with mid-year added features like piano black trim, mp3 compatible CD changer, power driver's seat, lighted vanity mirrors and white gauge needles. It also has a new color for the Mazda3: Metropolitan Gray Mica. Mazda added a second new color for the mid year model with a beautiful white pearl option but we are MGM people.

There are other subtle differences but outside of the above mentioned items the 2008.5 Mazda 3 is pretty similar to the 2008 Mazda3.

Specs

-2008.5 Metropolitan Gray Mica Mazda 3s GT
-Transmission: Automatic
-Options: Six disc CD Changer, Bose Sound System, Moonroof, Rear Wing Spoiler, Remote Start and Auto Dimming Mirror with Compass.

Only six miles on the odometer at pickup...

About the Driver

I'm coming from a 2005 Infiniti G35x loaded with every possible option so while I adjusted my expectations for the lower price point ($22K with s-plan) I was not prepared for the way the Mazda3 would blow me away.

I drive my cars assertively (sometimes assertively aggressive if there is such a thing) and will really put this car through the motions during ownership. Driving a car is an experience each time and I rely heavily on important driving/comfort aspects like handling, acceleration, ride, cabin noise, long term driving comfort and in car technology which will all shape upcoming updates.

Note: You might notice a pretty heavy comparison in my first impressions of the G35 to the Mazda 3 and that's mostly due in part to the fact that I almost purchased the Mazda3 in 2005 but was offered a very good lease deal on a 2005 G35x loaded for nearly the same that I would pay to own the Mazda3.

Seemed like a good idea at the time. Biggest regret of my life.

Now that you know me, let's talk about why you're here: first impressions!

First Impressions

There are a ton of really impressive features in this car! I struggled for a long time with not being technologically current in my 2005 Infiniti and the Mazda 3 is like an answer to my prayers. Here are some of my favorite features:

1) Remote Start - I can't believe how wicked cool remote start really is. Manufacturers are finally starting to offer remote start as an accessory that is installed at the port and I recommend it 200%. It's perfect for every possible hot/cold day when you don't feel like running out in the weather to start the car so it can warm up only to run back into the house and finish getting ready.

Remote start is something I could see myself not living without ever again and it wasn't an option on the Infiniti so +1 to Mazda for offering it. For the 2008.5 mid-year refresh, Mazda has integrated the remote start into the regular key fobs so now you won't have two sets of control keys to use on one set.

2) Rain Sensing Wipers - If you've never seen it, you wouldn't believe it. While driving home I didn't think the rain sensing wipers were working properly because the stalk appeared to be in the right position and it was raining pretty hard. I fiddled with the stalk for a little bit and discovered that it was in its "Off" position rather than "Auto". Once rotating the end piece into the right position it works quite well but I don't think putting "Off" and "Auto" within a knob's turn away was the best idea in the world.

3) The Manual Leveling HIDs - I don't know if it's manual really. It's kind of manual and automatic. You move the switch up or down until you reach the number you want (0 - 3) and the car adjusts the headlights to match that setting. The leveling headlights are not gimmicky at all and were pretty helpful while driving through fog and raising the headlights to watch for deer/pedestrians on the side of the road. Another brilliant feature the G35x was missing.

4) Aux Input - This is the golden feature for me! For the longest time (since 2005) I have always wanted a way to play my iPod in my car. I can't even begin to count the number of trips and meetings I've been late to while waiting for a CD to burn so I didn't have to listen to the same old crap in my car while driving there. In fact, I wanted the aux input so bad that I refused the Mazda CX-7 when considering my next car purchase purely based on its lack of an aux input and it was worth it ten times over. I love being able to plug my iPhone into the stereo and just scroll through the playlists to find a list I'm feeling right now. It works seamlessly and I really couldn't be more ecstatic over this feature.

5) The Ride - Most people are going to give me a confused look but I'm telling you the 2008.5 Mazda3s GT has a nicer ride than my 2005 Infiniti G35x. Not only does it ride better but it's much quieter and it doesn't make the "Mothership" car sick when I drive with her in the car. Thumbs up all around!

So those are my top five favorite things about the car. Overall it's really just an experience that new car buyers have to try to believe because it's extremely uncommon at this price point. I'm finally excited to drive to different places just to be in the car and I love everything about it! If you don't own one, buy one. If you own one, buy a 2008.5 model! The new trim, power driver's seat, gauges and everything in between are worth it.

History of The Datsun 240Z

The history of the Datsun 240z begins in 1969 when launched as a 1970 model to the motoring world. The Datsun 240z was not a new concept as many manufacturers had achieved sports cars with excellent performance, strong engineering, and attractive styling with mediocre interiors at a low cost. The success of the 240z was down to the fact that the car perfected the idea of a low cost, reliable sports car. The man responsible for the design and creation of the Datsun 240z was Yutaka Katayama and in recognition of his involvement of this legendary vehicle he was inducted into the Automobile Hall of Fame in 1998.

The history of the Datsun 240z engine is quite interesting as it is a deviant of the Datsun 1600 engine which in itself was a replica of the 1960's Mercedes Benz six cylinder with two less cylinders. Add two extra cylinders back to the Datsun 1600 engine and you have the 240z engine with 151 brake horsepower. With 146 pound-feet of torque you have a vehicle that could reach 0-sixty in eight seconds add to this the rack and pinion steering and independent suspension and you have a car with quick response, great performance and handling. Bringing all this to a halt in just seconds you had front disc brakes. With its launch price tag of $3500 it was much less than its rivals on the market at that time.

There is a strong history of the Datsun 240z with the Sports Car Club of America as it dominated the c-class production category for 10 years from 1970-1979. John Morton driving for Brock Enterprises in 1970 and 1971 claimed the first victory in the SCCA c-class production racing using a 240z. In 1972, 1973 and again in 1975 Bob Sharp was victorious in a 240z with Walt Mass continuing the winning run in 1974.

1974 saw an increase in the engine size to 2.6 litres and the vehicle renamed as the 260z effectively bringing to the end the 240z series having sold just under 117,000 models during its lifetime. The 260z engine had a lower brake horsepower of 139 as a result of the increasing emissions regulations in the United States as each year passed.

The Datsun 260z proved to be a far more practical car than its predecessor and during its first and only year of production it sold 63,963 units giving it the Z-series all time sales record.

The New Dodge Challenger

The Dodge Challenger is one of the most anticipated car releases in the United States. The Challenger, a redesign of a classic American muscle car, recaptures the heyday spirit of the 1960's and 1970's era of classic cars. Its re-release will delight a new generation of automobile enthusiasts, giving them a chance to relive the experiences of the zenith of the muscle car era. Even though most of the car will be manufactured in countries worldwide, people will still get to enjoy a taste of its Detroit steel.

There are people who change the looks of new Doge Challengers all across the nation. The new Challengers are made in the old version of the older models with the same mechanical underpinning, Once it comes to the public's attention people who modify the cars model to one's heart content. There will be a wide demand for all the parts of the likeness of the Dodge Challenger.

A large number of aftermarket car part manufacturers are issuing their parts catalogs for the 2008-09 Challenger. This will give those who have been able to preorder one of these automobiles the chance to obtain their parts orders prior to the heavy demand that will be created once the car is available to the public. Since this automobile resembles older styles mechanically, a lot of companies which produce parts for older model Challengers are adapting their products to fit the newer makes.

There is a plethora of new parts that are available for the 2009 Challenger. You can purchase modified racing transmissions, clutches, and engine header kits in order to modify your vehicle for drag racing purposes. Being that the Challenger was one of the most popular choices for drag racing in the past, younger buyers will want to use the car in the same way, letting them show off how they are able to modify their ride.

Of course, for the person who wants more flash on their Challenger, new Challenger parts for the exterior and interior appearance are going to come to market as well. Most notably, the vehicle is going to have a number of seating modifications, dashboard kits, and other accents that can give the vehicle an outward appearance of being a classic Challenger in the skin of a new model.

The inevitability is that new Challenger parts will likely be priced a bit higher than they should as the initial wave of buyers gets the mechanical pieces for their own vehicles. However, the new Challenger itself is going to be reasonably priced, meaning that the average car aficionado can afford to buy the car of their youth, and the parts to make it run like a dream.

The Dodge Challenger is certainly attracting attention: it is the most anticipated car launch in the United States this year. As car modifiers are being able to get their hands on the new Dodge Challenger, the demand for new Challenger parts inevitably rises. Because the new Challenger is similar to the older version when it comes to the mechanical underpinnings, the amount of parts available once the car comes into the public eye should be plentiful enough for any car junkie to be able to modify their vehicle at their will. A large number of aftermarket car part manufacturers are issuing their parts catalogs for the 2008 2009 Challenger parts.

Pontiac G8 American Sport Sedan

Pontiac's fortunes have been eclipsed over the past several decades by Chevrolet, as GM continues to pour new models and money into its best selling brand. As GM's performance division, Pontiac has keenly felt the neglect, and has been steadily losing sales as buyers shop elsewhere.

Fortunately, Pontiac's role in General Motors is beginning to change and they're getting some outside help in doing it. No, I'm not talking about the Toyota-derived Vibe, rather the Holden-derived Pontiac G8, a full sized premium sport sedan, the new flagship of the performance brand.

Tapping Holden for the G8 makes perfect sense, as the car is already built and sold in Australia as the Commodore. A thoroughly capable full sized sedan in its own right, building the G8 for the American market has been a boon for Holden as the company is able to fully utilize capacity in building the G8 alongside of the Commodore. Previously, Holden built the Pontiac GTO for the American brand, the first time the two GM divisions have collaborated on a design.

The Pontiac G8 is a welcome shot in the arm for Pontiac, a thoroughly capable rear wheel drive sedan. Powered by a 3.6L V6, or 6.0L and 6.2L V8s, the fully packaged G8 offers a good mix of performance and premium appointments, the same sort of package that many Chrysler 300 buyers are seeking and, if I dare say, what some BMW 5 series drivers expect. Indeed, comparisons between the G8 and the 5 Series have been frequently made, particularly in the areas of speed and handling.

The G8 offers a long list of standard interior accouterments including:

Highly bolstered two-tone sport seats with color-coordinated gauge cluster and GXP embroidery Leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear shifter Power-adjustable front seats Fog lamps Alloy sport pedals A 230-watt Blaupunkt audio system XM Satellite Radio As far as safety and equipment goes, the G8 doesn't disappoint in this area either:

Four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and traction control Electronic stability control Seat-mounted thorax air bags and dual-stage frontal air bags for front passengers, with automatic passenger sensing system Roof rail side-impact air bags for both seating rows OnStar Of the G8 models available, the GXP is the the top performer and comes equipped with a 6.2L V8, a slightly tamer version of the Chevrolet Corvette engine. Offering explosive power and BMW like handling, the GXP produces more than 400 horses and 400 lb.-feet of torque and is mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

Front suspension is controlled by multi-link MacPherson strut; direct-acting stabilizer bar; progressive-rate coil springs; fully adjustable camber, caster and toe; while rear suspension is four-link independent; progressive-rate coil springs over shocks; stabilizer bar; fully adjustable camber and toe. The brake system consists of four-wheel disc w/ ABS; ventilated front and rear rotors; quad-piston front calipers; single piston alloy rear calipers.

Clearly, the Pontiac G8 represents a strong, bold move for General Motors' performance division, a step that will likely help to bring additional fun-to-drive models Pontiac's way as customers notice and embrace the changes.

The Dodge Challenger Sounds and Performance

Dodge is well known for their heavy duty trucks, race cars and sedans that made their name popular today. Since they became known under the Daimler Chrysler company, the popularity has made Dodge well-cared for. Dodge vehicles are known and are demanding by racing teams when it comes to winning on the various race tracks all over the world. Dodge today, is known is the racing champ when it comes to wins.

A once dreamed of automotive business of the Dodge brothers became a reality. They began marketing cars and trucks that have become a staple of a lifestyle with people around the globe making the business quite the success; finally, the business was bought and the manufacturing of vehicles was turned over to the Chrysler Corporation.

Dodge cars, which are a part of Daimler Chrysler Company, are still famous for their features. Some of the popular cars of this company are Daimler Chrysler Company,Viper, Stratus, Neon, Dodge Avenger,Ram, Intrepid, Sprinter,Dakota, Magnum, and a few others. Dodge still manufactures cars that show the true interest of a famous car maker. To ride the Dodge is similar to enjoying life.

Dodge was the last manufacturer to enter the pony car division in the United States market. But everyone can say that Dodge has wisely spent their time in crafting their entry excellently - the Dodge Challenger. Released by the Dodge, a division of Chrysler Corporation, the Challenger was well-appreciated by the car enthusiast and the buying public. Though it was strongly based on Plymouth Barracuda's new E-body, its wheelbase is two inches bigger and it received a different sheet metal.

The Dodge Challenger sold 80,000 cars in 1970, the first year that it was available. Despite the sales success, the Dodge Challenger received a significant amount of criticism from the automotive press. It also had the misfortune to come out just when the pony car market was dying, and as a result the Challenger was produced for just five years. Production of the Dodge Challenger ended after the 1974 model year, with a total of 165,000 units sold from 1970 to 1974.

The Dodge Challenger arrived with an array of engine options. The well-known Dodge Challenger Trans-Am is a Challenger model which was produced in 1970 only. It was a racing homologation vehicle that was powered with a specially tuned Six-Pack version of the 340 cubic inch (5.6L) engine. Challenger T/A displays a fiberglass lift-off hood that has a big giant hood scoop and "megaphone" exhaust outlets which are installed in front of its rear wheels.

Throughout the model year of 1971, Dodge Challengers are available as either hardtop convertibles or coupes. The performance model, known as the R/T or Road/Track, is available in both body styles. The options were a limited slip differential, engines, steeper rear axle ratios, manual transmission, leather seats, shaker scoop, vinyl roof, and a smaller "formal" rear window. The 08-09 Challenger has relaunched; however, these new Dodge parts are not easy to come by.

In 08-09 parts Challenger has been introduced again but these new challenger Dodge parts are rare to get. In many cases, it will be necessary for the budget enthusiast to look for refurbished parts, or be forced to settle for "good enough."

Somehow even the best of car owners can neglect the interior of their car. Most of usually take a little time to wash the outside or at least go through the car wash. For some reason the interior gets put off until eventually you are wondering what happened to your car's interior. However, you should know that your car's appearance on the outside is just as important as your car's appearance on the inside. So, if somehow you have the let your car's interior slip away, here are some ways to get it looking good again.

First of all start by cleaning out all the trash and stuff that doesn't belong in your car. You should also clean your windows and wipe all areas of your car's interior that is not cloth. Then you should armor-all those areas to protect them from the sun and keep them shiny.

Also if you have really neglected your car's interior for some time your dash board may need repairing if it is cracked, scratched, or becoming dull. You can have this repair done by a professional at an auto reconditioning shop. It usually doesn't cost too much and not a lot of time either.

If your seats or any other fabric in your car's interior has rips or cigarette burns in it you should get that repaired as well. You should also consult a professional at an auto body shop to repair that for you. If you are thinking seat covers, I am thinking short term solution that doesn't look as good.

Also, if your headliner is starting to sag or is already sagging quite a bit you should consider that interior repair as well. It is also not that expensive and takes little time. Keep in mind that any idea you may have for repairing it yourself will most likely not last long, and it will only waste your time and money.

These are a few tips to getting your vehicles interior looking like new. Whether you want the car to look good for you or for a sale these few repairs and TLC will get your vehicle looking great. Anyone will be proud to own or ride in your car after you get your interior looking great!

The Popular Muscle Cars

Muscle cars are some of the most popular cars across the country. They are fast, sleek, small and attractive to the eye. The majority of muscle cars come with a V8 engine, are 2-door, have rear wheel drive and are usually inexpensive. Muscle cars were first mass-manufactured in the 1960s and 1970s and were primarily used for drag racing in the streets. But the first muscle car was produced in 1949. It was the Oldsmobile Rocket 88. This was the first American vehicle with the overhead valve V8 engine. The final model of the Oldsmobile 88 was produced in 1999. The model was manufactured in three different cities: Wentzville, Missouri; Flint, Michigan and Lake Orion, Michigan.

Here is a list of some muscle cars from the past:

1970-1971 AMC Rebel and Matador The Machine
1970-1974 Buick GSX
1965-1973 Chevrolet Chevelle SS
1966-1974 Dodge Charger
1968-1971 Dodge Super Bee
1969-1970 Dodge Charger Daytona with nose and goalpost wing
1966-1969 Ford Fairlane GT, GTA, and Cobra
1968-1974 Ford Torino (GT, Cobra, and Talladega)
1966-1972 Mercury Cyclone
1970-1971 Mercury Montego
1968-1971 Oldsmobile 442
1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass "Ram-Rod" 350
1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass W-31
1967-1971 Plymouth GTX
1968-1974 Plymouth Road Runner
1970 Plymouth Superbird with nose and goalpost wing
1964-1974 Pontiac GTO
1969 AMC SC/Rambler
1971 AMC Hornet SC 360
1963-1974 Chevrolet Nova SS
1968-1976 Dodge Dart GT, GTS, Swinger, and Demon
1970-1976 Plymouth Duster

The concern over muscle cars came to the forefront when Ralph Nader led a group of safety lobbyists against the marketing and production of the vehicles, especially to young adults. New teens, just beginning to drive, loved the idea of having a fast car to impress their friends and especially the girls. Muscle cars don't have the strongest of tires, great handling or excellent breaks. Tires have less adhesion on muscle cars than normal cars do.

A surcharge was placed on all muscle cars by the automobile insurance industry after Nader's group of safety lobbyists caused such an uproar that young drivers weren't able to purchase muscle cars anymore because the price was too high for them to afford purchasing the cars. Since the young crowd was not purchasing muscle cars anymore the market pretty much disappeared and the production numbers dwindled for each model.

Muscle cars became such a popular part of American culture in the 1960s and 1970s that they were included in not only television shows but also in movies. The car from Knight Rider was a muscle car; the cars in Starsky and Hutch were muscle cars; and muscle cars were used in Elvis movies most notably. Elvis would sing while driving in the car or standing next to it with his admirers. The popularity of the muscle car diminished for a while but its allure will never entirely disappear from the American culture.

The Music and Cars

Music has been the backbone of human culture for hundred of years. There are spirituals for different groups of people, favorite songs for individuals and national anthems for countries. Just like music, vehicles are a part of human life that people can't live without. People rely on cars to get to and from work, to and from school and to travel across country in. Vehicles keep the country moving, even if the congestion problems on the roadways keeps getting worse by the day.

How do music and cars go together? There have been plenty of songs written about certain cars that are still popular today as well as bands named after cars. Most notably, and most obviously, The Cars. Their most popular songs were Hello Again, Just What I Needed and Drive.

Songs throughout history that have paid tribute to cars have been done by Prince, Bruce Springsteen, The Who, Wilson Pickett, The Beach Boys and War. There songs about cars not only were popular because of the music but also because of what they were talking about. Prince's song was Little Red Corvette, Springsteen's song was Pink Cadillac, The Who sang Jaguar, Wilson Pickett did Mustang Sally, The Beach Boys were famous for Little Deuce Coup and War was popular for Low Rider. Low Rider is now the theme song for the hit sitcom George Lopez.

Once music videos became popular one band created one of the most popular music videos of all-time by using a car, a wind machine and a beautiful girl. That band was White Snake. The song was Here I Go Again, arguably their most popular song. The girl in the video was actress Tawny Kitaen and she was writhing all over the Jaguar of David Coverdale, the band's lead singer.

The song that most people associate with cars is Life is a Highway from the decade of the 1990s by Tom Cochrane. The song peaked on the United States Billboard charts at #6 in 1992 and it became a number one hit in Canada, his native country. His song, by far his most popular, has been used in movies, television commercials, radio spots and covered by the band Rascal Flatts.

Anywhere you go music and cars have a love affair with each other that can't ignored. People drive around with their tops down and the radio on, blaring their favorite music while out for a cruise with their friends or family members. The most recent 'driving' song or song about cars was done by the band from New Jersey Bon Jovi. Their song Lost Highway was released on their new album Lost Highway in June of 2007. Musicians have dedicated songs to the open road, classic cars and all types of vehicles throughout the history of entertainment and continue to do so today. Producing and releasing songs about cars and driving are as popular as ever because they hit home with the American people, who not only love their music but also love their cars.

The 2009 Hyundai Azera

Just for the record, the Hyundai Azera is not a luxury car. That's okay with most buyers as the Azera offers many of the luxury appointments of a car in a class above Hyundai, while offering Hyundai value and quality. Loaded to the gills, the Azera is a complete five passenger sedan, stacked with all of the stuff that drivers prize in cars costing thousands of dollars more.

Introduced in 2006, the Azera was the flagship sedan for Hyundai until the Genesis was introduced during Fall 2008. Considered by most to be a premium sedan, the Hyundai Azera's main competition includes the Toyota Avalon, Buick Lucerne, and the Lincoln MKZ.

Among the improvements made for the 2009 model year is improved steering and suspension, new blue interior lighting, chrome interior accents, a more distinctive chrome grille, redesigned 17-inch alloy wheels and iPod®/USB and auxiliary inputs. An LG in-dash navigation system, introduced during the middle of the last model year is also present.

The standard engine for the Azera is a 3.3L, DOHC V6 that produces 234-horsepower and 226 lbs.-ft. of torque. Optionally, buyers can choose an all-aluminum 3.8-liter, DOHC V6 engine, which delivers 263-horsepower and 257 lbs.-ft. of torque. Fuel economy for the smaller engine is 18 mpg city and 26 highway, while the larger engines delivers 17 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. Both engines are paired with a five-speed automatic transmission.

Safety is a key element contained within the Azera as the sedan earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) top crash test ratings for frontal offset impacts. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Stability Control (TSC) are standard with every Azera model. Moreover, safety minded customers will enjoy the sedan's independent double-wishbone front- and multi-link rear suspension, four-wheel disc brakes and the antilock braking system (ABS) that includes brake assist, and electronic brake force distribution (EBD), which automatically adjusts the amount of force applied to each of a vehicle's brakes for optimal performance under poor road conditions, speeding, loading and other potentially hazardous situations.

For drivers accustomed to enjoying a wide range of luxury appointments, the Azera doesn't disappoint. Interior volume is excellent, offering even more space than the BMW 7-Series, while rain-sensing wipers, power adjustable foot pedals and power folding side mirrors with turn signal indicators is available on the Limited version.

Standard luxury includes, dual front automatic climate controls, electrochromic auto-dimming mirror, power seats for driver and front passenger, as well as woodgrain and metalgrain interior accents. By choosing the Premium package, buyers will get leather seating surfaces, heated front seats and a power sunroof to go with the standard amenities.

Warranty coverage is excellent and includes Hyundai's five-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper protection, 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, five-year/unlimited mileage roadside assistance and seven-year/unlimited mileage anti-perforation coverage. Furthermore, Azera buyers receive 24-hour roadside assistance coverage at no extra charge for five years (no mileage limit), a service that also includes emergency towing, lockout service and limited coverage for trip-interruption expenses. There is no deductible on any of this coverage.

With a base price of $25,695 for the Azera, the sedan is priced thousands of dollars less than competing models, proving once again that price and value go hand in hand with every upscale Hyundai model.

The Adventure Expedition Quad Bikes

Quads are also referred as ATVs or four-wheeled motorbikes with either manual or totally automatic transmission. They are controlled through a set of handlebars as in any other motorbike and engine capacity ranges from 50 to 700cc. They are mainly designed for daring souls. Indeed rough terrain will be a treat to your driving skills and offers you the opportunity to fully exploit the adventurous ride on muddy and uneven paths. Imagine driving deep into the heart of the forest, up and down hills or across fields on your beloved four wheeled machine. After all, Dirt Quads are all about enjoying the thrill of riding in some of the most daring and adventurous paths.

To enjoy the fun and joy of riding dirt quads you should be aware of all the rules, regulations and procedures. Ensure that you have all the essential equipment and accessories to make your ride fun and thrilling.

They are one of the most enjoyable and easy to ride types of motorbike and ideal for people of all ages and abilities especially for young riders and off road riding as they are quite stable. Often parents gift dirt quads to their kids. The four-wheeled design ensures perfect balance and enables young riders to handle them easily. Well my young friends and their parents all praise quads, as no hand clutch makes riding easier and enable them to focus on the trail instead of shifting gears. Moreover they also have electric ignition rather than difficult kick starters.

At last, quad bikes are built for off-road use especially on rough terrain but it does not mean they need no maintenance. Check the tightness of all nuts and bolts on a regular basis to avoid the chances of having an accident.

The 1932 Ford Coupe

This die cast model of the 1932 Ford Coupe Hot Rod is a collectors piece for all car lovers. Is something that is both rare and in this case, something that you can take home if you wish to throw around some cash. This is a full handmade custom car. It is known as the definitive hot rod, the definitive custom car is the Mercury coupe built from 1949 through 1951. It is the holy grail of hot rods. And is best known for introducing the first mass produced V8 engine. It is a key vehicle in American car culture. Now and forever, is the holy grail of hot rods.

Although it is the most commonly used chassis for hot rods, the whole point is that it is not what you start with, but what you make of it that counts. It is no wonder that is still celebrated 75 years later as the Little Deuce Coupe. And is regarded as being definitive hot rod, and has been since the birth of hot rod as we know it back in the thirties. Legend has it, young Rick Nelson desperately wanted to buy the car with some of his show earnings, but his dad refused, saying, No it is worth $3,500. One of the premier examples of the capabilities is truly like no other. Anyone is welcome to register, as are those driving vehicles powered by any Flathead V8. It is considered the quintessential hot rod.

But is not a Model A so you will need to figure out what you actually have before planning the engine swap. But is best known for introducing the first mass produced V8 engine. It is an awesome car, even if it is painted a cross between yellow and puke green. Is considered the definitive hot rod and seeing an entire building devoted to the most influential of them was quite an experience. Yes, you knew that already, but did you ever consider that is the only car manufactured that year that is given this designation. 75 Years is a complete history of the car as it was built, and as a hot rod and race car. I think it is one of the finest looking cars of its era, in any price range, from any manufacturer in the world. Today, the is Roadster a design standard is now and considered 1932

It is a classic, mostly because it served as a foundation for several generations worth of hot rods. But is the first icon, the cornerstone for the foundation of a $31 billion after market industry that all of us bask in. What started out in life is now some kind of hot rod thanks to Al restoration in 2001. I know this is the trend with more and more replica bodies being produced each year but if a book is about a 75 year old car, in my opinion a 2005 built and is not quite authentic. Is consistent with 60s styling but is dressed up with ornamental accouterments such as barbed wire, skulls, a grenade and an antique towing rig.

Its upholstery kit is a seat worldwide business dashboard vinyl with offices auto upholstery fabric in Belgium, and has worked for the upholstery tanning paint upholstery 2002 ford focus Detroit upholstery ford and dyeing viking sewing machine store mustangs unlimited headlining liquors. Do you think the 1932 Ford is the quintessential hot rod. The 1932 Ford is the first year they came out with a V8 engine. It is obviously the most beautiful car ever discovered by hot rods and is unquestionably the classic king of street rods. Is regarded as being the definitive hot rod, and has been since the birth of hot rod. In my eyes, is the most beautiful car in the world. Just is the quintessential hot rod, the 1949-51 Mercury are the ultimate customs.

The New Honda Insight

Just after Toyota's announcement, that the production of the Plug-In Prius is fastened, Honda revealed the concept of new Honda Insight. The Honda Insight will be the world's cheapest hybrid car ever, with a price of roughly $18,000, it will undercut the best selling hybrid car, the Toyota Prius, by at least $5,000. Honda announced the company's goal is to sell around 200,000 Insight's annually, 50 percent of that in the U.S. The Toyota Prius was sold 181,000 times last year, so Honda aims to build a best-seller.

Honda will officially debut the concept of the new Insight at the Paris Autoshow next month. Although only a concept car, the Insight looks down-to-earth and ready for production. Honda declared the new Insight will look almost the same as the concept car, except some minor changes.

The Insight will be offered as a five-door hatchback, with five seats for the passengers. Honda's new hybrid car will be built on a lately engineered platform. Power will be produced by the Honda Civic's IMA electric motor coupled with a gasoline engine. The company also revealed the car will feature a lighter and weaker electric motor than the successful Honda Civic Hybrid. Thanks to the lighter engine, Honda managed to reduce the price of this vehicle. The company also promised the Insight will achieve an unbelievable 60 miles per gallon.

The new Honda Insight will be built in Japan and go on sale in the U.S., in Japan and on the old continent, Europe, in the middle of 2009.

The Volvo C30

Until quite recently in order to appear on Volvo's sales radar you would have needed to be either a Police Force or someone with a lot of furniture or children to move around or perhaps both. There have only been a couple of occasions in Volvo's long motoring history where they have produced a design that bucked the reputation for solid and dependable if not terribly exciting cars. The P1800 was a design classic but considering they stopped making it in 1973 and was in essence a sports car something new from the Swedish stable has been a long time coming.

Other previous attempts to make a small, two-door hatchback have resulted in the much maligned 340 series with its Renault engine or the somewhat troublesome 480 which smelt of smouldering electrics as soon as you turned the ignition key. As a result of these somewhat disastrous forays into the smaller car market, Volvo rather rapidly went back to producing larger rear wheel drive cars which it has historically been rather good at.

Volvo who were founded in 1927 surprised the automotive world in 1999 and decided to sell the family silver to good 'ol Ford and as a result the two blue badges (oval and kinda square) became one. This was quite a canny move by the Swedes as Ford has more or less let Volvo get on with things and in turn Volvo has sent a healthy profit back to Detroit (a reported $700 million in 2004). Despite falling sales in the USA, it has at times been the only profitable car-maker in the House of Henry.

Turning our attention now to the C30, Volvo has benefited from Ford's ride and handling prowess mainly thanks to the highly praised Focus chassis and its line-up of petrol and Peugeot/Ford diesel engines, Volvo now has the tools to do the small-car business.

The C30 has set itself apart from competition such as the Audi A3 and BMW's 1-series with softer lines and lends itself to less angular coupes of old. The C30 is being strongly marketed at a "young and dynamic" market to people with "intense urban lifestyles" whoever they are, although Volvo is still expecting to sell some cars to the rest of us regular folks. Production will be at Volvo's Ghent plant in Belgium with some 65,000 C30's expected to roll off the lines each year.

As you would expect with all Volvo's the C30 has an excellent build quality to easily match its German rivals. The panel gaps are spot on and the lustrous paintwork then leads you into a well designed high quality cabin. The soft coatings of the interior give rise to a cleverly designed "floating" centre console which provides hidden storage space behind. An optional satellite navigation system emerges from the dash if you should lose your way.

There is not a huge amount of luggage space as you might expect in a two-door coupe but then hey if it's a family car you are after you're barking up the wrong tree here.

The C30 comes with a good choice of engine sizes from 1.6 litre petrol through to a 2.5 litre turbocharged T5 model. A number of oil-burners are available too including 1.6/2.0 and the top spec 2.4 D5 Unit. Performance levels are good especially the T5 which will keep you holding on to your seat at a top speed of 149mph which is pretty good considering the car weighs in at 1.4 tons (Volvo's never have been light weight). The ride quality is good as is the handling thanks to running gear donated from the Ford Focus. In keeping with all Volvo's, safety is still a big factor and the C30 is packed with features, the cleverest of which is Volvo's blind-spot information system with discreet lamps in the windscreen pillars which warn you when you're about to run into something or someone!

The C30 should appeal to many, even people who don't have "intense urban lifestyles" Sadly I don't think that includes me any more.

GMC Yukon Hybrid Review

The 2009 GMC Yukon Hybrid has been described as "impressive", "stunning" and "magnificent" by both reviewers and owners. They're not talking about the Yukon Hybrid's performance, amenities or looks, although all are average or above. They're talking, instead, about the fuel economy figures they see with this hefty hybrid.

Both of GM's 2009 full-size SUV hybrid models, Yukon and Tahoe, feature the innovative, 2-mode hybrid system, introduced in 2008. Combined with GM's active fuel management technology and a unique late-intake valve opening system, the computer-modulated 2-mode electronic variable transmission (EVT) technology translates into real savings at the pump.

Since its '08 debut, the GMC Yukon Hybrid has boosted gas mileage nearly 30% compared with non-hybrid Yukon models. EPA estimates of 21 mpg/city and 22 mpg/hwy for the 2WD Yukon Hybrid and 20/20 for the 4WD model are, indeed, impressive.

A comprehensive list of standard amenities comes with the '09 GMC Yukon Hybrid, including 8 passenger seating, leather 6-way adjustable front power seats and a sound-system-integrated GPS with back-up camera. In addition, the Yukon Hybrid features 6000- to 6200-pounds of towing capacity, anti-lock brakes and stability control.

With its 2-mode EVT system, a bit of aerodynamic tweaking and a 350lb-plus weight reduction in the wheels, body and cabin, yet still weighing in at nearly 5300-pounds, the 2009 GMC Yukon Hybrid is both big and "green".

Starting at $50,945 for the 2WD '09 Yukon Hybrid, and some $2,810 more for the 4WD, big and "green" is also pricy.

Hottest Convertible Cars

A convertible car is also called a cabriolet in Great Britain. This is actually a car that has a folding roof that can allow you to have direct contact with the wind while you drive. The roof of the car is usually manufactured in light materials such as vinyl, canvas, aluminum, or even plastic. If the roof of the convertible car is made of a rigid material, the car is called coupe cabriolet or coupe convertible.

The history of the convertible car starts the very beginning of the history of automobiles. Did you know that all the cars were convertible to begin with, and it was only in 1910 that closed body style cars were introduced? This happened thanks to the Cadillac. However, up to 1910, a roof was not a must because the engine was weak, and the speed of the car was not threatening. During the 1950s and 1960s, the convertible cars became in vogue again, and there were many models available, manufactured by different American manufacturers. Some of these convertible cars included the Packard Caribbean, the Oldsmobile 98, or the Imperial by Chrysler.

There were also some cost-effective editions such as the Rambler American and the Studebaker Lark. All these models of convertible cars were highly popular and you had to have one in order to be in style. In the movies several of these models appeared, endorsing the style and making these convertibles even more popular. However, today, the convertible cars are not so popular as they used to be, but in case you would like one, the offer is quite impressive: the Alfa Romeo, the Aston Martin DB9 Volante, the Audi A4 or the TT, the Bentley Azure, the BMW Z3 and Z4, the Buick Electra, the Dodge 400 or the Viper, the Ford Mustang, the Jeep Wrangler, the Lotus Elan, the Mercedes Benz SL and SLK, the MINI, the Nissan 350Z Roadster, the Opel Astra Capri, Peugeot, Renault, Toyota or Volkswagen and the list can continue.

Owning a Classic Car

Owning a classic car is a dream for many people. It can however be a costly and time consuming hobby. Classic car ownership has many subtle differences to owning a regular vehicle and so potential buyers should take their time before making their purchase.

Where to Buy

Just as with buying an everyday vehicle buyers of classics have many options in where to look for their new car. Places to look include classic car magazines, newspapers and the internet. There is certainly no shortage of classic cars for sale. A popular place to purchase a classic car is at a specialist auction. By taking their time and attending a number of auctions it is possible for classic car enthusiasts to uncover an absolute bargain.

Wherever the vehicle is being bought there are a number of things the buyer can do to ensure that they are getting a good deal. Before making the purchase a close inspection of the vehicle should be carried out. The outward appearance of the car should reflect its mileage. A common check is to compare the mileage shown on the odometer with the condition of the rubber cover of the brake pedal and see if they tally.

Insurance

To be eligible for classic car insurance the car must be at least 15 years old. Insuring a classic car differs from insuring a regular vehicle. In normal vehicle insurance the amount to be paid out in the event of a total loss will be equal to the value of the car at the time that the claim is made. In other words the payout is equal to the depreciated value of the car.

For classic car insurance the process is different. The amount paid in the event of a claim is pre-arranged at the time the insurance policy is taken out. When taking out the insurance policy the owner first needs to get the car appraised. This appraisal will set the value of the vehicle and this amount will not change no matter when the claim is made.

Transporting

Many classic cars are simply too valuable to be driven, certainly not over a long distance, and so if the car needs to be moved an alternative method must be found. There are several companies in the UK who specialise in the transportation of classic cars. Transporting classic vehicles is usually done using covered transporter trailers.

The use of a covered trailer is a sensible choice for classic vehicle owners. By keeping the car covered it is protected against the weather and accidental damage. It is also kept away from the eyes of thieves. Drivers of these types of trailers have specialist experience in transporting prestige vehicles and so owners can be sure that there car is in safe hands.

Rapid Recovery UK offer classic car transport services nationwide. Based in Stockport, Greater Manchester Rapid Recovery operate a fleet of covered car transporter trailers

About Nano Car

Authorities inWest Bengal began a survey on Wednesday to find excess land around the factory building 'Nano' car as part of efforts to end protests by farmers unwilling to give up their farmlands.

The four-member committee formed to discuss a land-based solution to compensate farmers in West Bengal visited the Singur site today.

After inspecting the TATA Motors' Nano car project site, the committee comprising of Trinamool Congress leaders Rabindranath Bhattacharya, Becharam Manna, West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC) Managing Director Subrata Gupta and Hooghly District Magistrate Neelam Meena will hold a second meeting.

Tata Motors has suspended work at the factory because of the stand-off and threatened to look at alternative sites after farmers backed by the local opposition party blocked roads leading to the plant and threatened workers.

After days of negotiations, the State''s Communist Government and the opposition Trinamool Congress party, representing the farmers, agreed on a joint committee that would conduct the survey and return excess land around the plant to farmers.

"We believe that if the government wants to solve the problem then it can. The factory can be built even after the land of the farmers is returned to them. Both the factory and the farming land can co-exist," Becharam Manna, one of the member of the committee belonging to Trinamool Congress.

The Nano protests reflect a larger standoff between industry and farmers unwilling to give up land in a country where two-thirds of the population depends on farming. Politicisation of farmers" resentment has further complicated the issue.

The Nano factory and its ancillary units were being built on about 1,000 acres of land. About 400 acres, earmarked for ancillary units, is under dispute.

Tata Motors says separating the ancillary units from the main plant would upset the project''s cost calculations, and any alteration in the original arrangement was unacceptable.

Meanwhile, Lakshmi Mittal, chairman steel giant Arcelormittal said the Singur standoff doesn"t mean the country does not want growth.

"One case of Singur cannot be the example for the world. You can face this kind of problem in any other country, a particular project can face this kind of opposition from the people but the country as a whole is interested in growing and I am sure one programme which are launched in Jharkhand and Orissa were people are participating in discussion about the growth of the state," Mittal said.

Trouble began after the government acquired farmland for the factory last year. The government offered compensation which some farmers rejected, demanding that at least 400 acres be returned.

The government says it is in favour of a land-based solution for farmers but against disturbing the Tata Motors plant site

How to Sell A Ferrari?

When asking yourself "How can I sell my Ferrari," there are several things you will want to take into consideration. This is not just any other car that you are getting off of your hands. This is an exotic car that can sell for a hefty price tag if you are smart. And in order to find a Ferrari buyer, you want to be careful about how you sell the car. Here are five steps to take when selling your Ferrari."

1. Getting it ready

The first step to selling a Ferrari is to get it ready. You want to make sure all of the ownership papers and service records are in order to give to the Ferrari buyer. You want to make sure it is running fine and give it a nice cleaning. Essentially, you want the car to be in its best condition so it is at its most desirable state.

2. Pricing the car

The next step to selling a Ferrari is to price it. This can be a difficult step because it is an exotic car, but you want to set a price that you believe you can find people to buy your Ferrari. It is difficult finding the balance between too much and too little.

The best way to go about pricing the car is to look in as many ads as possible. You want to see what other people are pricing their Ferraris at to get a basis of what you can sell yours for. In addition to looking at ads, you can also look on autotrader.com and cars.com to find additional listings. You will also want to take into consideration anything you have added to the car to increase the value.

3. Once you have set a price and have placed an ad wherever you choose to post it, the next step to finding a Ferrari buyer is handling the calls. You have to be open to take calls whenever possible so you can talk with potential buyers. You never know how long it is going to take to actually sell the vehicle, but you have to be ready at all times.

When talking with potential buyers, be courteous and open to answer any questions they may have. Be upfront and honest with them so they know the true condition of the car. Lying is going to get you nowhere as they are eventually going to see the car. Lastly, be open to set up a time for people to come and look at the car and get the feel of it.

4. Patience

As mentioned above, you never know how long it is going to take to sell a Ferrari. It can be difficult to remain patient, but that is exactly what you must do when selling an exotic car for such a high price. Most people are not willing or capable of spending over a £100,000 for a car.

If you are still not receiving as many offers as you had hoped after awhile, do not be afraid to look for another ad. The more ads you have in different magazines and papers, the better chance you have of people seeing it. Just remain confident that you will find the right person who is willing to pay what you are asking for the car.

5. Closing the deal

If I were to sell my Ferrari, the last step is to close the deal. You have to be willing to negotiate from time to time when asking yourself "who will buy my Ferrari." While this does not mean you have to drop thousands of pounds off of your asking price, you should be willing to work with the potential buyer and drop a few hundred pounds or a thousand.

You want to determine how the buyer is going to pay for the car and then sign the title over to him. Once you have done this, the deal will be done and you will have sold your Ferrari.

History of the Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep Wrangler is just one of numerous styles of vehicle that has carried the name Jeep. The Jeep Wrangler, as it is known now, did not exist until 1987, when the YJ style body for the Jeep replaced the Jeep CJs. Previously the Jeep was not known as the Wrangler, it carried the CJ label, which stands for Civilian Jeep. Since World War II, when the Jeep came into existence it has transformed into numerous models and styles. Presently there are many different vehicles that carry the Jeep name, from the Wrangler, to the 4 door Wrangler, Liberty, Patriot, etc.

Not only has the Jeep been transformed into many different style vehicles it has also been passed down over the years by different companies. The first company, which created the Jeep, was Willys-Overland. The company had ultimately won the Jeep name and recognition beating out both Bantam and Ford, both companies creating similar vehicles in competition for contracts with the military. However, the Willys-Overland company suffered financial troubles and in April of 1953 was purchased by Henry J. Kaiser who had his own car business, Kaiser.

Under Kaiser the Jeep became profitable and became the sole focus of the company. Kaiser had introduced other lines of the Jeep vehicle, one of which was the Wagoneer. With the popularity of the Jeep, Kaiser Industries decided to change the name of the company to Kaiser-Jeep in 1963. Kaiser Industries was a massive company that produced everything from ships down to medical supplies. For this reason Edgar Kaiser had decided to merge Kaiser-Jeep with American Motors Corporation (AMC) and kept a controlling interest in the companies stock. Yet again the Jeep name had survived another change in company and ownership.

Jeep continued to be a strong brand and company; however, AMC was faltering with all of its other productions and was having financial difficulties.

Presently the company that owns the Jeep line is Chrysler LLC, formerly DaimlerChrysler AG, after Chrysler Corporation and Daimler-Benz had merged in 1998. Chrysler Corporation had originally purchased the Jeep line back in 1987 because it did not want to develop its own line of SUVs. Even with the merger with the Mercedez parent company, the Jeep line remained true to its predecessors and production remained in Toledo, Ohio.

The current model of Jeep Wrangler is the JK model, which followed the popular TJ model. As mentioned earlier the history of the actual Jeep Wrangler is not as long as the Jeep itself. The Wrangler has only been in existence since 1987, however to fully understand the history of the Jeep Wrangler it is important to know about its predecessors and the company transformations. Not many other vehicles, besides the Jeep, have survived numerous changes in ownership as well as model designations.

The Wrangler was introduced in 1987 as the YJ model. The YJ model was very similar to the previous CJ model, the major differences being a slight change in the grill style and the introduction of rectangular headlights. The rectangular headlights caused a controversy with enthusiasts; despite the rest of the Jeep being similar to the CJ, many of them refused to call the YJ a true Jeep.

The YJ Wrangler then gave way to the TJ Wrangler in 1997, with the reintroduction of the classic round headlights. They also changed the suspension from leaf-spring to coil-spring to provide a better ride, similar to the Jeep Cherokee. The TJ also saw the introduction of the Rubicon and the Unlimited editions of the Wrangler. The Unlimited edition featured a longer wheel base for more storage. The TJ and its different variations existed for 10 years, until 2007 ushered in the JK model, a new, completely re-designed Wrangler that is larger and is also available in a 4 door model - unlike any before it.

The Aston Martin DB5

In the early 1960s Sean Connery graced our screens in the Aston Martin DB5 quickly making it one of the most famous cars ever produced. Both films, Goldfinger and Thunderball had James Bond driving his enemies off the roads with the gadget loaded car.

Film makers asked Aston Martin to provide the next James Bond car and were given the opportunity to use the new Aston Martin DB5 even though it hadn't been released yet. The earlier DB MkIII was the car Ian Fleming had envisaged in his novel Goldfinger, but the film makers were happy to upgrade James car, and this was a decision which gave birth to a legend.

The DB5 had evolved from the DB4 which was very similar, but didn't have the headlight covers. The DB5 had a powerful 4.0 litre engine and a five speed gearbox which lifted it above its older relative.

The DB5 could reach speeds of up to 148mph with the straight six engine which produced 282bhp. Bond had a fast car, but his version had extra's including machine guns, bullet-proof screen, tyre slashers, front and rear rams, radar and phone, smoke screen, revolving number plates and best of all, a passenger ejector seat.

The James Bond films gave Aston Martin great press and a cool image due to aspirations of a nation of alpha males wanting to be like James Bond. The great image forged for Aston Martin still lives on to this day and I am sure the Bond connection proved to be a massive influence.

Even though the DB5 is probably the most famous of Aston Martins, the car only lived for 2 years in production with just over 1000 cars built before being replaced by the DB6. If you can grab one of these then you will have a real collectors item - just be careful with the switches though, you could send your wife through the roof.

The Hyundai Accent Hybrid

One of the most anticipated cars on the American hybrid vehicle market is the Hyundai Accent Hybrid car. Rumors about this automobile began circulating when Hyundai attended the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition in 2005 with a hybridized Accent.

Although a closely guarded secret, those in the know inform eager hybrid aficionados that the Hyundai Accent Hybrid will feature a 90 horse power, 1.4 liter engine as well as a 16 horse power electric motor. This is said to increase the overall fuel economy by an estimated 44%.

This contradicts rumors that would have had the Hyundai Accent Hybrid use the Lambda 3.3 liter V6 engine of the 2006 Sonata. Other rumors insist that this hybrid car would make the pain at the gas pump go away since it is supposed to offer 45 miles per gallon, making it comparable to a Civic II 2 wheel drive CVT.

At this point, this is all conjecture and although potential Hyundai Accent Hybrid buyers are eagerly waiting to get more information, they have to be content with the fact that the earliest scheduled release date is 2009. Price has not yet even been discussed for the North American market, and it is anyone's guess how competitive the sticker cost of the Hyundai Accent Hybrid will be. Our guess is that it will be very competitive with other like models in it's class.

The Land Rover

The first Freelander has been available since 1998, and has been a big success throughout Europe. The Freelander is now Europe's best selling 4x4. In 2001, other features were added to the Freelander such as improved engines and gearbox. Land Rover is known worldwide for it's off the road performance. The Freelander has a smooth ride, is impressive off-the road, and is very secure. Although the prices are high, the reliability could be improved and could provide more space for drivers.

In 2006, the Freelander 2 was announced. The Freelander 2, has introduced 2 new engines, a 3.2-litre straight-six petrol and a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel. Some of it's changes from the original Freelander, is the unique 'Terrain Response' to make off-roading easier, also the full time intelligent system 4x4 for better fuel economy and traction, and the 'Gradient Release Control' which helps drivers when releasing the brakes on steep and slippery slopes. Other small helpful features include keyless starter button, bi-xenon headlamps and rain-sensing wipers too name few. Too many, it's advantages are it's superb ride and composed handling. Many people comment that the design and technologies of the Freelander are excellent but many buyers complain about the price compared to that of Freelander's rivals. The Land Rover Freelander 2 prices range from £21,000 to £36,000.

After complaints about the original 'Freelander' lacking space for drivers, the Freelander 2 has more space for head, shoulder and legroom. A clever feature by Land Rover is the 'stadium seating', where the rear passengers are seated slightly higher than the front occupants as to see the outside world. The only disadvantage with the Freelander 2 is that it is now too large and struggles to fit in car washes, parking spaces etc. Due to this, it is hard to get around small villages, but perfect for motorways.

"No other compact 4x4 has anything like its total breadth of capability," says Phil Popham, Land Rover's managing director. "The Freelander 2 sets new standards in the sector, combining the advantages of a premium car with the attributes of a robust 4x4,

With the impact of the credit crunch and the rising prices, many people now use contract hire& leasing to purchase their cars. The contract hires ranges from £317 to £490 over 36 months for a Land Rover leasingFreelander 2.

Thunderbird Classic Cars

What's better than cruising with your very best girl on a Saturday night? Cruising in a Ford Thunderbird classic car, that's what. T-Birds first appeared in 1955, (the same year Disneyland opened its doors), and they have been going strong ever since. Those first Thunderbirds were small, classically designed sports cars that oozed style and speed at the same time.

Thunderbird classic cars underwent an evolution after they first appeared in 1955. First designed as two-seaters, a four-door appeared in the late 1960s, and in 1958, the ultra-classic convertible first appeared, leading the car to its' classic status almost overnight.

The Ford T-Bird came in a variety of colors, from pristine white (remember "American Graffiti?") to classic and eye-popping candy-apple red. They seem to represent the 1950s, an age of innocence and youth that is long gone but certainly not forgotten.

How can you collect Thunderbird classic cars? Well, there are several places to start:

• Your local classified pages. A long shot, to be sure, but you may find the car of your dreams right in your own back yard.
• Local car auctions. Again, these classic beauties are hard to find, but at the right car auction, one might turn up.
• Vintage car auctions. Your odds get better at these auctions that pop up around the country and specialize is antique and vintage cars like Thunderbirds, and the cars are often in mint condition at these auctions, too.
• Online. You can check auction sites like eBay, sales sights like Craigslist, or Internet sales sites to find the Thunderbird of your dreams. Often, these cars are ready to be restored to their former glory, so you might be able to find some bargains here.
• Car clubs. Is there a local Ford or T-Bird club in your area? Join it. You may find one of the members is selling their car, and you'll learn more about how to restore and enjoy your T-Bird once you find one to buy.

What makes these cars so classic? Well, it could be the 1950s retro styling, with fins, porthole windows, and their sporty look, or it could be that many people remember them from when they were young. They were the "cool" cars then, and some things never change, Thunderbird classic cars are still cool today, so cool that Ford has brought back an updated version for the 21st century.

Did you know Thunderbird classic cars were named for a mythological Native American bird, and they can be categorized into eras of style and development? Here they are:

• 1955-1957. This generation is known as the "Classic Birds," "Little Birds," or "Early Birds," according to who you ask.
• 1958-1960. These are the "Square Birds," and include the introduction of the convertible.
• 1961-1963. Here come the "Bullet Birds," styled after a sleek, speedy bullet.
• 1964-1966. These are the "Flair Birds," designed with more flair and less speed..
• 1967-1969. Known as the "Glamour Birds," these models may be easier to find that the earliest models, and became more luxurious. The convertible disappeared with this model, but four doors appeared.

Classic Car Restoration Parts

There is a love of classic cars that just cannot be stripped away from some people. It is more than just the captivation they have with the look of the car, it is also about the way they were built and the era that they came from. But as with anything classic, restoring these cars can be time consuming and expensive as parts are not always easy to find. Classic car parts can be extremely difficult to find, you may find that special part you are looking for on the other side of the country or even from the other side of the globe.

When looking for classic car restoration parts, it is always best to try and look around to see what you can find in your area. Starting here first will save you a lot of time and money by not having to pay for shipping costs. Remember, more often than not, classic car parts are heavier in weight than the parts are today and since the postal service charges for the weight, shipping expenses can be pretty high. So if you are able to avoid the mess of getting classic car restoration parts through the mail, all the better.

Buying Your Part Over The Internet

A lot of people seem to find the classic car parts that they need through the Internet on auction sites. These auctions are just regular people who are selling some of their own stuff. While most often this is a safe adventure, you must proceed with caution as there are scam artists out there just waiting to take your money. Classic car restoration parts are not cheap so make sure that you check out the seller as much as possible before sending them your money or any of your personal information.

Of course, there is only so much that you can determine about someone over the Internet. Since this is the case, your best bet when buying any classic car parts is to use a safe payment method such as paypal or your credit card because you, as the buyer, are offered a certain amount of protection through these payment methods. While it is great to get the classic car restoration parts you have been wanting, it is not worth giving away every penny in your bank account because you were too excited or impatient to take cautionary steps. Just proceed with caution when buying such items and you will be fine.

The Honda Accord

In my younger days I worked for a number of advertising agencies the most well known of which was McCann Erickson. As a result I still have a keen interest in advertising especially on television where the commercials tend to be the most memorable. Every once in a while an advert comes along that really sticks in the mind, often long after you have forgotten what the actual product being advertised was.

The famous 'Cog' advert for the Honda Accord was first aired on British television back in 2003. Honda has a huge diverse market in the US but in the UK the appeal has always tended to be towards older buyers perhaps with the exception of the high performance models. The creative brief for the 2003 campaign must have incorporated a section which said something like we need more mass appeal for the Accord and how do we target a more youthful aspiring and ultimately trendier buyer?

Cue the 'Cog' advert to the soundtrack of "Rappers Delight" by the Sugar Hill Gang. The agency must have pitched the concept impeccably and how the suited Honda executives approved the advert we may never know. At the time it was a creative stroke of genius, the advert was two minutes long so the media budget alone would have been huge. Although the running time was subsequently reduced the message had certainly been delivered in style. The advert consisted of a visually stunning chain reaction of car components rolling together to create a domino effect which culminated in a finished car effortlessly rolling off a balanced trailer and coming to rest before the camera. The cleverly chosen voiceover of US author Garrison Keillor then delivered the line "Isn't it nice when things just work?"

I first saw the advert at the cinema and was fascinated by the attention to detail. I have subsequently found out that the advert took over 600 takes to complete and utilised only minimal amounts of CGI. That was the brilliant thing about it, someone had lovingly and meticulously arranged all the individual components to move at just the right moment and it must have taken hours to set up just for one relatively short commercial. I can't remember what film I saw but I remember the Accord advert so there's the power of advertising for you!

Echoing the sentiments of the commercial it is nice when things work especially cars as let's face it they are a means of getting us from A to B without letting us down. This has been the appeal of the Accord and for Honda and Japanese cars in general. Critics would say that the Accord doesn't have the flair or Gallic charm of French cars or the sheer status of German Marques but after having once owned a Honda I realised what owning a reliable car is all about. They always start first time, mine never needed any oil between changes and it never let me down once. The trouble is you can easily take this for granted, something that I later discovered when I decided to return to a French car which although had bags of character it always managed to leave me stranded in the middle of nowhere in the rain.

The Accord has been getting people to work on time and not blowing up on family holidays since 1976 and is now in its eighth generation. Honda has developed a diesel engine which is the envy of the competition and has exemplarary standards of emissions and fuel economy which is becoming ever more important in this age of increasing fuel prices. The latest Accord is larger than its predecessors and has a high quality feel and outstanding build quality. Bullet proof reliability now comes as standard and with the popularity in the US the Accord doesn't need clever advertising it just seems to sell itself.

Jon Barlow recalls the famous TV ad for the Honda Accord and how the Accord remains popular as ever http://www.bristolhonda.co.uk/

The Hyundai Genesis

It has been a long time running and it was bound to surface sooner or later, the 2009 Hyundai Genesis sedan is the earth child of a constantly improving automotive manufacturer. There have been great praises and spy photos for the car that will give some of the most elite luxury sedans a run for the money, and consumers will soon see why. Just recently arriving at local dealers, consumers can expect wide array of features and creature comforts that come all too familiar with similar offerings from Europe's and Japan's elite, only your dollar goes a lot further. Think of it as a dollar menu item, what you see is what you get, and it fulfills every hunger or thirst expectation in the features to dollar ratio. Let us take a close look at the Hyundai Genesis and respect what we expect from the car that will win over prospective buyers.

At first glance, the 2009 Genesis is unmistakably an amalgamation of parts from some of the comparable models today. The front-end design is truly Mercedes S-class, the rear half is somewhat familiar in Acura RL. And of course the side profile can be a Lexus LS, if it wanted to be of course. But whatever Hyundai chose to build its first super high end auto, they surely did a fantastic job integrating a look that will make the Genesis a suitable flagship for the underdog Hyundai Corporation. In-spite of record gas prices this summer, consumers can't get enough of the luxury mid-size sedans and coupes. But by looking at this sweet looking model, it is huge, about the size of that S-class or LS. As a result, the Genesis will appeal to those larger families and carpool fanatics that are looking for an inexpensive but awe-inspiring piece of automotive machinery.

What the Genesis lacks in light weightness (and we're talking 4000+ lbs. here folks), the car more than makes up in superb powertrain ingenuity. Aside from the smaller V6 option, spend a couple thousand more and opt for the incredible 375 hp 4.6L eight that everyone is talking about. From push of the throttle, the car is instantaneously responsive and fluid in transmission response as it climbs the gearing. A sensible choice for the powerful engine, is the ZF 6-speed automatic with Shift Tronic control to help hold the gearing over longer, broader ranges, it doesn't disappoint. And as expensive as gas is, the Genesis' 20 gallon tank is consumption frugal in it's V8 economy with 17city/25hwy, just as good as some V6 choices in other midsizers. With a large, heavy body, the suspension is taut and smooth over the California freeways with it's 5-link and gas charged shocks, there's nothing more relaxing for the bumps. The car does float a little at higher speeds and there is some body roll evident in the corners but the car isn't built for tracking the curves anyways. Additionally, the steering feedback is splendid with cleanly engineered power rack and pinion internals. And finally, the 18" wheels are glam-ready for the cruises and are performance oriented with it's grippy tire package. The Genesis hits the mark yet again for pleasing driving dynamics; it is a little something for everyone.

Just as well put together as the outside, the interior amenities give the Genesis owner something to talk about to that pesky neighbor who always has something to say about that aging 2005 E-class in his driveway. The paneling and many little plastic parts flow together well and lend that clean fit and finish facade. Some of the spots are pleasing to the touch with plasticoted soft material that is vinyl-like in nature, just one thing to remind folks that this is still Hyundai crafted. Gadgetry is everywhere and is easy to understand with little effort, buttons were easy to reach and illuminate well at night. The guage cluster is beautifully crafted with electro-luminecent technology, something that the Toyota Camry perfected in its newest generation. The fully loaded 4.6 also had crisp navigation technology and stunning 7.1 surround, Lexicon 17 speaker system that sounds as good as it's name implies. Tech minded individuals will also enjoy the XM Radio w/navtraffic and various USB and auxiliary input jacks for the mp3 devices aplenty. Lucky owners that have navigation will also appreciate the rear backup camera and front and rear ultrasonic park assist sensors for tricky parking maneuvers. Safety never relaxes in the Genesis as one will find plenty of airbags and stability control programs, a sigh of relief for the safety conscious. As one can see, the Genesis comes complete with the full array of features to make even the haters drool with envy.

As great as the 2009 Hyundai Genesis is, couldn't there be something that can turn away the luxury buyer? Well for one, owning a Hyundai doesn't necessarily bring the status moniker that most discrete buyers look for when they own the likes of Mercedes or BMW. For just over $40 grand, the Genesis is a superb bargain and one that can't be ignored if consumers are in the hunt. It is great to see HID headlamps w/adaptive forward lighting, tire monitors and push button start, but also keep in mind that there is only a driver cooled seat and faux feeling leather appointments that doesn't measure up to the best of Stuttgart. As yet again, and a constant reminder, that the 2009 Hyundai Genesis is a genre all its own when luxury and affordability come together like it has never been before. It will cover the bases and appease those whom want something that will complete a lifestyle, the Genesis is the ultimate response to that large gap between fully loaded mid-size and the entry-level luxury sedan. And now, just wait until that incredible couple version to hit the market next year!

History of the Porsche

Porsche are German manufacture cars, interpretations of the sports car idea. Both founded by a dominant patriarch, both honed in racing, both more than fifty years old, both with engineering and styling integrity. Whether on the track or on the streets, the two have always been put head to head and compared. Even the most naive motorist associates these two names with both performance and style.

In 1978, the model was improved by the increase of the engine capacity to 3.3 liter and some other modifications. Now the engine produced 40 horse power more. The rear wing was also revised: the two separate grilles were replaced by one larger smooth surface, placed a little higher in order to make room for an inter cooler.

Introduced in September 1969, the Porsche 914 was a sporty, mid engined two seat and a 4 cylinder boxer engine. The idea for this new model came up to create a new car. When sold in North America, however, all 914 would be considered. The interior of the 914 is quite simple, not luxurious but with all necessities. There is not too much space other than the passenger seat.

In 1983, Porsche returned to Formula One, supplying engines badged as TAG units. It was a success and won two constructor championships in 1984 and 1985 and three driver crowns in 1984, 1985 and 1986. Less than ten years later, in 1991, It returned as a engine supplier, but this time the results were disastrous Footwork, the Porsche powered cars, did not score a single point and at over half of the races it even failed to qualify. Since that year, it did not participated to Formula One.

And now, after creating the most anticipated new sports car in decades, the company is proud that it is what many expected it would be technically slick and remarkably fast, with on road handling that belies its bulk. Also, the Cayenne delivers what most buyers demand, including decent cargo space, more than enough capability for casual off road use, and impressive towing capacity. When it comes to pricing, Cayenne is a true sports car. A very expensive sports car. With tax and license, a loaded Cayenne Turbo can crack the $100,000 barrier, and that alone will knock it off most shopping lists. But for the connoisseurs, the Cayenne will be truly appreciated for its performance and driving satisfaction.

Now it became impossible to specify where a car was built. Even ordering Tourist Delivery does not force a Stuttgart build. Apparently some cars are shipped from Finland to Stuttgart for Tourist Delivery. The initial plan was to be produced in Finland for only two years. Everybody thought that by that time the demand would decrease so that plant could handle all production. But the demand remains high, and against all expectations the plant will remain busy for the foreseeable future. Assemble 30,000 cars per year, so the only way would be moved entirely to Finland is if it could sell the better part of that. In the short term, that is not likely to happen though.

The Dodge Grand Caravan

Today I am going to talk about the safety of grand caravan integrated child seats. Yes they are convenient to have. You no longer have to worry about forgetting to get the child seat out of one parent's car to put into the other. Dodge claims they are the top of the line, but how safe are the really?

What are integrated child seats?
Grand caravan integrated child seats are built into the back seats of many Dodge grand caravans. The child seats were first introduced in 1992 as a optional feature to help sell the Grand Caravan as a family vehicle. It is a great idea and many families were impressed by the child seats. They were meant to help families with small children save time and money on the expense of buying a separate car seat.

Safety Recall or Safety Improvement?
The safety of grand caravan integrated child seats were tested back on October 1997 when The National Highway Traffic Safety administration administer a recall on the child seats. Dodge claims that it was not a safety recall. In fact that said it was a safety improvement. The recall affected about 157,000 units.

What was the problem?
If the shoulder harness were to become dirty or sticky, it could be hard to release the child from the seat. So putting it in plain terms when your child eats ice cream, drinks juice, or even a fast food burger don't let them spill it on the shoulder harness. Or maybe clean it up pretty fast before it stains.

What did the owner get when they called about the recall?

Dodge was quick to move on this recall concerning the safety of the grand caravan integrated child seat. For every owner who called they sent them two items to correct the mistakes that were made.

1. A Video - It was a video tape explaining how to properly use the car seats and maintain the car seats.

2. Harness Clips - The owners were also sent 2 harness clips with instructions on the proper way to install them.

Is the safety of the grand caravan integrated child seats still in question?

The new 2008 models have been equipped with all the latest gadgets and the integrated child seats are included with the package. Are they safer then the ones they issued 16 years ago? Yes they seem to be. The new integrated child seats come with the new harness clips build into the seat. Plus they have not had any more safety recalls or even safety improvements in the last ten years. The safety of the grand caravan integrated child seats are no longer a worry for the owners of these Dodge cars and trucks. So consumers can buy with confidence.

Auto Lock Picks

Have you ever locked yourself out of your car and had no spare key? In such a case you have the choice of calling a locksmith or busting out a window or you can get yourself a set of auto door opening tools. Sure lots of folks take a clothes hanger if you can find one of the metal ones, but these days most clothes hangars are being made of plastic and the ones you can bend in the form of a loop or hook are becoming harder to find, not to mention that most cars today aren't built with windows like they were 20 years ago. Its so easy to shut off your car and jump out while locking your door only to look back and see your keys still dangling in the ignition.

I'm one of those people who can never remember to get myself a spare key for my car, so years ago I bought myself a set of professional auto door opening tools and it has proved to be one of the best investments I ever made. I can't count the number of times I have locked myself out while being preoccupied thinking about something else, I even did it one time while the car was still running, and if you have ever done it you know the feeling of pain in your wallet as 40 bucks just flew out, not to mention your embarrassment as your local locksmith cheerfully greets you with a "lock yourself out eh?"

Auto door opening tools today are a bit different from the old slim jim that used to be the mainstay of car door openers. Nowadays a lot of cars use electronic locks and for that you will have to have a tool that looks sort of like the letter "h" with a bent prong on the end of it. You slide the big part down beside the window till it clears the bottom of the glass, then pull it back up inside the car and push it down to the lock button and press it with the tool. Most of the better auto door opening kits come with at least a couple of these types of lock picks.

Prices for auto door opening kits range from 50 dollars for a set of slim jims to over 400 bucks for a complete kit with all the bells and whistles, but from my experience the average person only needs a slim jim and a couple of the h tools mentioned above. Its also a great way to make some extra income from family and friends who just like you tend to be forgetfully sometimes.

The Nissan Altima

With all the high gas prices out there, hybrid vehicles are continuing to become more popular among drivers. There are a few luxury hybrid choices out there, and the Nissan Altima Hybrid seems to be the most popular of those choices. Check out some of the features of the Nissan Altima hybrid and what sets itself apart from the other hybrids.

The Nissan Altima Hybrid has a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder DOHC engine that is equipped with a continuously variable transmission complete with unique front wheel drive. The clutch control is characteristic of Toyota's CVT. The steering is smooth and enjoyed by many drivers, although the suspension is a little stiffer compared to that of the original Altima.

Similar to other hybrid motors the Nissan Altima is not quick to gain momentum and lacks the power of other similar sized models. The technology to make hybrid cars perform in this way is still under development. However it is able to reach similar speeds of others in its class. The Nissan Altima Hybrid has a 158-horsepower petrol engine and a 40-horsepower electric motor. The internal combustion engine is located 162 feet from the gas engine and about 199 feet away from the electric motor. The change from electric motor to petrol engine is smooth and almost unnoticeable. The car has the capacity to accelerate from zero to sixty in just nine seconds.

Thanks to the input from Toyota the car also demonstrates a regenerative braking system enabling it to charge its own batteries. This is a convenient and useful feature. The process of acceleration and breaking produces electrical energy which is streamlined directly into the batteries. This conveniently ensures that the battery never has to be charged manually.

Gas Mileage and Environmental Information

Combustion engines burn gasoline and produce by-products in the form of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide emissions. These gases are identified as among the greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming. The Nissan Almita is one of the more environmentally friendly vehicles on the road. The shifts in electricity and gasoline significantly lower the overall fuel consumption making the combustion produced in the engines significantly lower.

The United States Environmental Protection Agency estimates the fuel economy of the Nissan Hybrid to be about 42 miles per gallon when driven in the city, reducing to around 36 miles to the gallon driving on the highway. In addition the Nissan has been classified as an Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle. (AT-PZEB). This is a result of the car releasing almost no evaporative emissions. It has exceeded in its ability to reach Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle standards.

Due to the vehicle's outstanding environmental and fuel efficiency levels, the Nissan Altima Hybrid has received certification from the US Internal Revenue Service for reaching the specified requirements imposed on Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit. As a consequence the Nissan Altima Hybrid gains a tax credit of around $2,350. Making it even more of an attractive option when compared to similar models of its size and ability currently on the market.

Other Features

Safety is a main component of the car. The Nissan Altima Hybrid is equipped with standard airbags. These are situated in the driver and passenger seats and side headrests.

There are side door beams and panic button alarms to deter thieves, together with a series of locking features including a vehicle anti-locking device. If you are driving with your kids, do not worry about them accidentally opening the doors. Child safety locks throughout provide further reassurances as does the safety releasing device in the trunk.

Most of these added features can be found on the Toyota Camry Hybrid. Once again it comes up for comparison with its counterpart, ostensibly differing only in size and interior space.

Mazda 3 Shark Fin

When I bought my 2008.5 Mazda3 the first thing I noticed was the huge horse whip style antenna jumping off the roof of the car. I'm not much of an AM/FM radio aficionado and with optional satellite radio or an iPod in tow there isn't a whole lot of reason to be but for important traffic updates and local news it can't be beat.

The shark fin works as a sleek, compact replacement for your stock horse whip antenna and is extremely easy to install. We did hit a few snags though so read on to see how we did it and what not to do.

What You'll Need

1. Flat Head Screw Driver (Optional)
2. Painter's Tape or Masking Tape
3. Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol (We used 70% and definitely recommend sticking at 70% rather than the more potent 98%)
4. For Waxed Cars Only - 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner or 3M Prep Solvent 70 or Dawn dish soap (liquid)
5. Hair Dryer (Heat Guns are too powerful and will damage your paint!)
6. A stool of some kind (Unless you are tall enough to reach over the Mazda3 and push down on the middle.)

1. The first thing you are going to do is unscrew the Elroy Jetson style antenna from its base. The antenna is all one piece so it should come right off.

Okay, this is where we goofed it up a little bit. The picture above still has the antenna on while we were applying the rubbing alcohol. I don't think it really matters whether the antenna is on or off when you apply the rubbing alcohol but we were very eager to get started so it's on in the pic above.

2. Apply the rubbing alcohol using a paper towel or blue shop towel and wipe the entire surface where your shark fin antenna will be. Don't use cotton balls or cotton pads because, as we learned above, it leaves streams of cotton everywhere.

Note: For waxed cars, you'll want to use the 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner/3M Prep Solvent 70 or Dawn liquid dish soap first to remove the wax from the install area. Then use the Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol to go over the same surface again and let it dry.

Before planning the location of your shark fin make sure there is no left over residue or other elements (dirt, dust etc.) on the install area because it will lessen the integrity of the double-sided adhesive gasket on the bottom of the shark fin.

3. Place the shark fin over the antenna base and approximate the position over the antenna connection site. The reason you want to be as exact as possible is that you are positioning the shark fin so that you can place painter's tape (or masking tape) around all four sides and not have to re-align it when you want to connect the shark fin to the antenna base. Once you are satisfied with the positioning of the shark fin, proceed to step four.

4. Place painter's tape around the shark fin starting with the front of the shark fin and then moving to the back. Then place painter's tape on the left and right of the shark fin.

Note: We used just one piece of painter's tape to make sure the front end was where it needed to be. If you want absolute precise alignment we recommend placing the tape over the front of the shark fin in two - three pieces in a triangular configuration.

5. Peel back the pre-slit paper on the underlying adhesive gasket from the back. It's sliced right in the middle of the back so you can pull it away (carefully!!) to a little ways past the corners of the back of the shark fin. You are doing this because you will start the final placement of your shark fin in just a few short minutes!

There are two attachment screws provided, dubbed M5 & M6, that should fit your antenna base quite nicely. Inside the shark fin antenna there is a coiled up connector that you will use to connect your shark fin antenna to the antenna base. Refer to the photo above where you will see how we connected the cord to the antenna base using the larger of the two screws and did so with our fingers rather than using a flat tip screw driver. The instructions caution against over tightening so we'd recommend leaving the screwdriver in the garage for this one.

Tip: Tilt the back of the shark fin towards the antenna base to ensure enough slack while the fin is being connected.

Before mounting the shark fin you need to make sure the part of the roof that it will be placed on is at room temperature. We opted not to use a hair dryer because it was about 70 degrees out and the sun was going down. In hindsight we would probably use the hair dryer anyway because our shark fin pops up a little bit in the front meaning it didn't bond well up there. I doubt it had anything to do with the adhesive gasket and more to do with the temperature of the roof.

6. Use a hair dryer to get your install area on the roof to room temperature. Be careful and do not focus the hair dryer in any one spot of the roof to avoid damaging your car's paint.

7. Remove your adhesive paper completely and prepare to mount the antenna.

8. Visually align the front of the shark fin to the pieces of tape used in Step 4 and between the two side pieces. Do not press down on the adhesive gasket yet (this is sticky stuff!) and make sure the shark fin is aligned properly on all four sides. I was the camera guy so I checked it from all four sides while my installer realigned the shark fin as needed.

9. Once you're aligned properly press down firmly on the the front of the shark fin for about a minute. It is absolutely crucial that you press the front down first.

10. Now that the front of the shark fin is mounted you can simply hold down the rear of the shark fin for about a minute (hold firmly!) and then remove the masking tape.

Success! The shark fin has been installed!

That's all there is to it!

Initial Impressions: The shark fin actually improved my local radio reception and I've been pretty happy with it thus far. I'm disappointed that the front end didn't bond as well as it should have but I think that might have been user error. After all, we didn't have this guide of dos and donts to follow when we installed it.

Final Thoughts: If you are into aesthetics or perhaps better radio reception I would definitely recommend that you pick up a shark fin. It's more of an aesthetic treatment rather than an AM/FM booster but I certainly appreciate not having a bumper car-like wand whipping around on top of my car while I'm on the highway.

Disclaimer: This install guide was created to help you along in a visual way and to review what we learned from our experience of installing it for the first time but you should still study the install procedure sent in the shipping box. It's very thorough and might cover a few things we omitted in our guide.

Porsche History

Porsche are renowned for producing a high calibre of sports car. The German car makers have succeeded making sports car that are renowned for its quality, reliability and performance. Above all, Porsche is a prestigious sports car that can be used for everyday driving.

The collection of opulent Porsches' includes the Boxter, Cayman, 911 and the Cayenne series, which are produced in Germany. Porsche have managed to retain the car plant despite other German manufacturers have relocated to other countries chiefly Eastern Europe.

At the Paris Auto Show in 1974, during the height of the oil crisis, Porsche presented the 911Turbo - the world's first production sports car with exhaust turbocharger and pressure regulator.

In 1996, the one millionth Porsche rolled off the company's Zuffenhausen assembly line just outside Stuttgart on July 15.

Porsche founder Ferdinand Porsche's grandson, Ferdinand Piëch, was chairman and CEO of the Volkswagen Group from 1993 to 2002. With half of all shares, he also remains the largest individual shareholder of the Porsche company.

Porsche's 2002 introduction of the Cayenne also marked the unveiling of a new production facility in Leipzig, Saxony, which today accounts for nearly half of Porsche's annual output.

The Porsche Cayenne

The Porsche Cayenne is a large SUV (sports utility vehicle) from German car manufacturer, Porsche. It is available with a choice of petrol engines and has five seats, five doors and four-wheel drive. The Cayenne is available with both manual and automatic (tiptronic) gearboxes. Its four-wheel system can send 100 per cent of the engine's power, in any mix, between the front and rear axles. A low-range gearbox is also standard.

PORSCHE CAYENNE HISTORY

The Porsche Cayenne concept was announced in 1998 and came into production in 2002. It was the first large family-type vehicle that Porsche had made after having a long history of just producing roadsters and sports cars. The Cayenne was co-developed with Volkswagen, who was keen to add a sports utility vehicle to their extensive line-up as a cost-sharing initiative. In terms of design, the Cayenne has many similarities to the VW Touareg and the Audi Q7

TYPES

The Porsche Cayenne is available in five different variants. The entry level model is the standard Porsche Cayenne. Next is the Cayenne S. This is followed by the Cayenne GTS and then there are the two top-of-the-range models; the Cayenne Turbo and Cayenne Turbo S. All of the Cayenne vehicles are powered by petrol engines. The entry level model has a 3.6-litre V6 (232 PS) unit. The S and GTS models use 4.8-litre V8 units (385 and 405 PS). The Cayenne Turbo and Turbo S models use 4.8-litre twin-turbo charged V8 units (500 PS and 550 PS respectively).

DID YOU KNOW?

• Critics originally thought that the Cayenne would be unsuccessful as buyers would not want to buy a vehicle of that nature from a manufacturer with such an extensive sports car heritage. Porsche made a prediction that they would sell around 80,000 Porsche Cayennes, but in actual fact they have sold over 150,000 to date.

• The Cayenne is the first V8-engined vehicle built by Porsche since 1995, when the Porsche 928 was discontinued. Porsche are set to introduce a diesel engine into the Cayenne line-up from March 2009. This engine is to be sourced from VW and will be a 300 PS 3.2-litre V6.

The Land Rover

In September 1947, the Land Rover project was made official. There are currently five types of Land Rover. Freelander, Discovery, Range Rover and Range Rover sport 4x4.

Some of it's from the original Freelander, is the unique Terrain Response to make off-roading easier, also the full time intelligent system 4x4 for better fuel economy and traction, and the Gradient Release Control which helps drivers when releasing the brakes on steep and slippery slopes. Other small helpful features include keyless starter button, bi-xenon headlamps and rain-sensing wipers too name few. Too many, it's advantages are it's ride and composed handling. Many people comment that the design and technologies of the Freelander are excellent but many buyers complain about the price compared to that of Freelander’s rivals. The Land Rover Freelander 2 prices range from £21,000 to £36,000.

After complaints about the original Freelander lacking space for drivers, the Freelander 2 has more space for head, shoulder and legroom. A clever feature by Land Rover is the stadium seating , where the rear passengers are seated slightly higher than the front occupants as to see the outside world.

The contract hires ranges from £317 to £490 over 36 months for a Land Rover leasing Freelander 2.
